schools.\u00a0 We volunteer at their schools and in the classrooms, and at home we always help with homework, projects, and other activities to help reinforce what they are learning.\u00a0 With the kids being in two different schools that let out at different times, it can feel like we spend most of our day just driving back and forth for drop offs and sitting in car lines!\u00a0 There are also school plays, field trips, PTA meetings, class parties, and other school activities and events and we try to be involved in as much as possible.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Volunteering in the Classroom<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-31242\" title=\"Pzvolunteer0213\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jasonangeliniphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/Pzvolunteer0213.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"900\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.jasonangeliniphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/Pzvolunteer0213.jpg 900w, https:\/\/www.jasonangeliniphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/Pzvolunteer0213-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>At the Christmas Show<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-31240\" title=\"PzGpshow1212\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jasonangeliniphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/PzGpshow1212.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"467\" height=\"700\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.jasonangeliniphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/PzGpshow1212.jpg 467w, https:\/\/www.jasonangeliniphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/PzGpshow1212-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 467px) 100vw, 467px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Life with kids is more than just school and activities.\u00a0 The day to day is just as eventful!\u00a0 Besides special times like vacations and holidays, there are always birthday parties for their friends (or their own birthdays!), play dates, neighborhood friends stopping by, and visits from our family.\u00a0 The kids have dentist appointments and pediatrician appointments which seem to come up often when there are four kids!\u00a0 We take the kids out for fun at the park, bowling, mini golf, nature trails, feeding the ducks, and lots more.\u00a0 At home we read together often, do arts and crafts, bake treats, cook together and always eat dinner as a family, play in the yard or go swimming, go for walks around the neighborhood, play board games, and every day we pray together.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">But finding time for everything that is important to me as a mom is even more challenging as a working mom.\u00a0 This is just a glimpse into our lives.\u00a0 As all of you know, random things are always coming up and schedules fill quickly.\u00a0 The kids, the laundry, cleaning, grocery shopping, errands, taking care of the cat and dogs&#8230;it all has to fit into 24 hour days, and in that same time I need time for a job that keeps me working 70 hours a week or more.\u00a0 I absolutely love having our photography business.\u00a0 Jason and I have said over and over how grateful we are to be able to work doing what we love!\u00a0 We meet awesome people and make great friends, all while sharing in such special days and memories.\u00a0 We are a part of people&#8217;s family history!\u00a0 But that doesn&#8217;t mean it isn&#8217;t hard work.\u00a0 It is A LOT of VERY hard work!\u00a0 It is not an exaggeration to say I work more than 70 hours a week.\u00a0 During our two busy seasons, it can be much more than that.\u00a0 People ask where I find the time and it is often in the middle of the night when the kids are asleep.\u00a0 It is not uncommon to have me answering your emails at 1am, or updating the blog at 3 in the morning.\u00a0 I rarely get more than 4 or 5 hours of sleep before I have to get up to help the kids get ready for school.\u00a0 I work as much as I can throughout the day too.\u00a0 Our one year old loves pressing buttons so I give her Jason&#8217;s Nook (sorry Jason!) and that gives me a few minutes.\u00a0 The kids eat a snack when they get home from school and I go upstairs to work while they eat.\u00a0 I work while they are getting their pajamas on.\u00a0 I fit in a few minutes when they are picking out the book we are going to read.\u00a0 I am always trying to find a minute or two to answer one email or edit a couple pictures or finish a reprint or album order or work on the endless accounting paperwork and taxes (yuck!)\u00a0 Most people have off on weekends, but I am working then too.\u00a0 We only allow our kids &#8220;screen time&#8221; (tv and video games) on weekends so I&#8217;ll work as they watch a show or play their newest favorite game, Skylanders.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">As I was thinking about Lent and what I would do or give up to better follow Jesus, the little moments of our family&#8217;s day to day life kept standing out to me.\u00a0 The kids are growing up so quickly.\u00a0 It really is the blink of an eye and it makes me cry when I think about it.\u00a0 All the activities, events, classes, homework, lessons, work, etc make time fly by and I really need some time to just slow down and take in the small moments, the ones that really count!\u00a0 Someone shared this picture on my Facebook page and I loved it (sorry I don&#8217;t know who made it to give credit, but it is a beautiful little poem!):<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-31246\" title=\"Babies Don't Keep\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jasonangeliniphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/Babies-Dont-Keep.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.jasonangeliniphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/Babies-Dont-Keep.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.jasonangeliniphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/Babies-Dont-Keep-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.jasonangeliniphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/Babies-Dont-Keep-300x300.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">God granted me these miracles.\u00a0 I love my life and the amazing man God brought into my life to share it with.\u00a0 And I love my job too, but working 7 days a week can sometimes keep me from being truly present for the other blessings in my life.\u00a0 Though I give as much of myself as I can to my faith and family, I am often distracted with thoughts of all the work I have left to do that day.\u00a0 I can be having a terrific time with my kids but in the back of my mind I&#8217;m looking for a moment to steal away to finish something on my computer.\u00a0 I sometimes feel guilty when I&#8217;m away from my computer for a while!\u00a0 Working at home is amazing, but it can blur the boundaries between &#8220;home life&#8221;
