First Day of Kindergarten!

In less than a week our son will turn five.  It seems like he is still so small yet growing up too fast at the same time!  This morning we dropped him off for his first day of kindergarten.  There were tears, but luckily they were all mine.  He was absolutely fine, just as his big brother had been.  I came home feeling sentimental and wondering how the house could seem so quiet and empty even with a toddler, a baby, and all of our pets still home!  I know the boys will learn and grow so much this year in second grade and kindergarten and I’m excited for them, but emotional as well.  I hope I am always able to remember to take in every moment, good and bad, and treasure the time when they are young and home with me.  Jason told me not to get too sappy because the boys both had great days and won’t understand why I look at them and get teary eyed :).  I’m just so proud of them and I feel so blessed!  Here are some pictures from the first day of school today.

The boys both picked mac and cheese for their first day lunch.  I put a fruit roll up cut like The Kissing Hand in it for them as well.  And inside I hid a note from home and a family picture.

During our back to school shopping he got a new shirt that you can write on!  For his first day he decided to write, “School Rocks!!!”

Our handsome boys ready for their first day of school.  God is good!  Jason and I are so blessed!

We tried to peek in at him after we left the classroom but he was busy unpacking his backpack:
