Angelia and Nathan’s Wedding at the Sirata

Back in June, dad had so much fun with Angie and Nate at their engagement session.  They had a great time and got some beautiful images so dad was really looking forward to their wedding day!  The big day was Friday and dad headed to the beach for their wedding at the Sirata.  Dad got to see the fabulous Darla Stafford again as she did Angie’s hair and makeup.  Dad and Darla have three weddings in a row together this weekend!  Angie and Nate’s other vendors included For Better For Less as the florist, DJ Rob Vollmar from Grant Hemond, and Chef Nelson for the wedding cake.

The weather was finally starting to cool off and it was a beautiful day for a beach wedding.  Angie and Nate had an awesome wedding party, though the groomsmen taught dad some very colorful terms that he wishes he could go back and unlearn ;) .  The wedding was lots of fun and Angie and Nate didn’t stop smiling all day long.  Congratulations Angie and Nate, and thanks for having dad there to celebrate with you!

Kalyn and Daniel

Kalyn and Daniel were married at the Sirata last Saturday.  Dad was excited to see them again after having lots of fun at their engagement session.  When Dad arrived everyone was very upbeat and excited and dad knew it would be a great day. Darla Stafford did an amazing job on hair and make up (as usual) and it was great seeing Chad with Digital Wave Productions who was the couple’s videographer.

Kalyn’s beautiful smile:

Dad loved the detailing in Kalyn’s dress.  The ceremony was on the deck and though there was a bit of a concern about rain, it luckily held off.  Grace from A Wedding with Grace was the officiant and dad enjoyed working with her again!

After the ceremony the guests gathered on the beach for a big group shot.  While Daniel held dad’s camera for him, he took a couple self-portraits.  Daniel’s picture is actually one of mom’s favorites from the day!

Crazy family shots are always fun!

The reception music was by Dan from Sword Sounds. Believe it or not, this isn’t the first wedding dad has photographed where a hula hoop has made an appearance!

One of our favorite ring shots EVER!!!

Kalyn and Daniel were awesome!  We hope they have a terrific time in Aruba!

Kala and Steve

This has been quite a busy week! Dad was really busy with 5 sessions and 2 weddings last week, so this week mom has been super busy trying to catch up with editing. She had lots to do since we all had decided to go with dad when he leaves to photograph a wedding in Georgia this weekend. That meant our blog was neglected, but we wanted to make sure to update before we left!

Last Saturday Kala and Steve were married at the Sirata Beach Resort in St. Petersburg. Dad said this wedding was way too much fun! Anyone who saw the non-children’s blog appropriate pictures that mom shared on Twitter will understand.

Dad got to work with many wonderful vendors. The Sirata staff was terrific and the Sirata’s caterer made some yummy seafood for the reception dinner. The videographers were David and Christine from Trinity Wedding Video. They are good people and dad was happy to see them again. The DJ was Rob Sword from Sword Sounds who is one of dad’s very favorite DJs. And Cakes by Ron made a fantastic cake with one small cake layer (for the bride and groom to cut) on top of a stack of boxed mini decorated cakes for guests to bring home as favors. Dad even remembered to bring one home for mom :) .

Kala, Steve, and all of their family and friends made dad feel like one of the group. The day was relaxed (even when the rain canceled the reception on the boat that was planned) and full of laughs. Kala told dad that she wanted some silly pictures and she and her guests delivered!

The reception was a blast, and some of the “props” the couple brought out were too funny.

Enjoy your honeymoon cruise Kala and Steve!
