Rusty Pelican Wedding: Katie and Colin

When dad photographed Katie and Colin’s engagement session last fall he thought their dog was so cute.  Dad was excited to see that some pictures of Bentley at the session were made into cufflinks for the wedding day!

Katie and Colin put together a fantastic team of vendors for their wedding day.  Darla Stafford is so talented and super nice.  She was there for hair and makeup.  Chad Whelan is a wonderful videographer and dad has lots of fun working with him.  Reverend Tom Greene officiated over the ceremony and Rob Sword of Sword Sounds rocked out as the DJ for the reception.  Debbie of The Bride’s Bouquet did the flowers and Chantilly Cakes made the yummy wedding cake.  Dad enjoyed working with everyone.

Mom loved the bright pink flowers and especially the mini crystal chandeliers used in the centerpieces.  The reception room looked beautiful!  Thanks so much to Katie and Colin for having dad as part of your wedding day.  Congratulations you two!

Angela and Charlie at the Grand Plaza

It has been a couple weeks since Angela and Charlie’s wedding but we are still working on catching up on the blog.  What a blessing to be so busy that we have lots and lots to blog about!

Angela and Charlie were married at the wonderful Grand Plaza on St. Pete Beach.  Dad says Kristi, the coordinator for the Grand Plaza, is wonderful.  Reverend Tom Greene was the officiant and he always does a good job as well.

Angela was a gorgeous bride and mom loved her gown!  It looked terrific on her.  Angela and Charlie’s friends and family were so happy to be there to celebrate their day.  The ceremony was an emotional one with many tears of joy, and then the reception was a big party!  Thank you for having dad there to witness your love and the beginning of your lives together.  Congratulations newlyweds!

One of mom’s favorites from the day:

This was dad’s first wedding after switching to Nikon and he thought it was funny to see many wedding guests who were Nikon users as well.  And of course the lone, sad Canon user:).

Stacie and James at the Grand Plaza

Sunday dad joined Stacie and James for their wedding at the Grand Plaza Beach Resort, a terrific place for a wedding.  Thanks so much to Corey Conroy for shooting the wedding with dad!  Dad says he is a terrific person and it was great spending the day with him.  Rose Garden Florist put the orange and pink tropical flowers together.  Reverend Tom Greene (727-403-6308) was the officiant at the ceremony and did a wonderful job as always.  Le Cheesecake made Stacie and James’s wedding cake to match the bright orange and pink wedding colors.

Stacy and James are a beautiful couple and put together a beautiful beach wedding.  From ribbon wands to parasols, there were bright fun colors and details every where!  The newlyweds will be enjoying the beach even more as they head to Mexico for their honeymoon.  Have an awesome honeymoon and congratulations!

Bridget and Kent at the Grand Plaza

On Sunday dad photographed another beautiful wedding at the Grand Plaza Beach Resort on St. Pete Beach.  Dad looks forward to weddings he gets to photograph there!  Bridget and Kent were married on the beach with their reception following in the Presidential Ballroom.  Not only were they a great couple to be around but they also had wonderful family and friends who were very welcoming and kind to dad.  Bridget’s mom even invited dad to bring all of us over for dinner if we ever visit Arkansas!  She doesn’t know what she would be in for:).

Bridget and Kent were married by Reverend Tom Greene (727-403-6308) and had the always terrific Rob Sword of Sword Sounds as the reception DJ.  It was a relaxed and fun wedding and everyone there, from Arkansas, Canada, and beyond, had a wonderful time on the Florida beach celebrating with the couple and enjoying good company.  Thanks to Bridget and Kent for having dad there to share in the day!

Bridget’s gown, with the bead work on the straps, bodice, and waist, the low back, and the full train, was so elegant.  Bridget looked amazing!

Alicia-Marie and Jason at the Grand Plaza

Dad photographed Alicia and Jason’s engagement session in front of Raymond James Stadium back in November.  Their wedding was on Saturday at the Grand Plaza on St. Pete Beach.  It is a wonderful location and dad was excited he got to spend most of the weekend there for three different weddings!

Alicia was a terrific bride.  She laughed, she cried, she danced, she made silly faces.  Jason was great too and it was obvious how much he loved to see Alicia happy.  Both of them teared up during their vows on the beach.  Reverend Tom Greene (727-403-6308) was the officiant for the ceremony.  The couple had their ceremony at 10:30 am and the morning light was gorgeous.  With a morning wedding this time of year, the sky was a beautiful blue and the water looked amazing.  It made for beautiful pictures!

Rob Sword from Sword Sounds was the DJ and dad always enjoys working with him.  He does a great job.  The wedding color was pink with green accents and the couple brought the colors together in their centerpieces with vases filled with lime slices and green flowers under a bunch of bright pink Gerber daisies.  Mom loves fruit details at weddings!  Her and dad had a citrus theme for the day after brunch they had during their own wedding weekend.

The flower girl at the wedding had the same name that mom and dad have as their top choice for our little sister!  Dad said after hearing people say it all day he is even more sure about it, so I think we have finally settled on a name!

The bride’s parents gave dad a Thank You note that was so sweet!  It said:

“Jason, Thank you so much for all your wonderful help and beautiful pictures to memorialize Alicia and Jason’s engagement and wedding.  Alicia changed her mind on quite a few ideas about the wedding, but the one constant from the very beginning was who she wanted as her photographer!”

What a wonderful compliment!  Thanks so much to Alicia’s parents for that!  And of course thank you to Alicia and Jason for having dad there and letting him share your day.  Enjoy your honeymoon!
