Welcoming In a New Decade

Some of our New Year’s Eve:

New Year’s Eve Toasts and Cheers:

What kid doesn’t loving staying up super late and being allowed to make lots of noise?!  (and no, if you look closely you will see that is NOT Jason’s middle finger you people with bad minds!)

It is going to be a fantastic year, we just know it!  Our lives are filled with love!  We have our own wonderful family and we get to work with amazing couples and families and capture their love for each other.  We are blessed!  A sincere thank you to all of you who make that possible.  Happy 2010 to everyone!

Happy New Year!

“Youth is when you’re allowed to stay up late on New Year’s Eve.  Middle age is when you’re forced to.”  –Bill Vaughn

Have a safe and fun end to the year. We hope the next year and the next decade is filled with hopes and opportunities and blessings and love for all of you.  2009 has been so wonderful for our family.  We cannot wait to see what God has in store for us in 2010!

Happy New Year!

Happy Halloween!

Our tradition is to carve pumpkins on Halloween morning (which works well for Florida since the heat makes them rot so quickly!)  Big brother was very careful to collect all the seeds so there were lots for him to eat after they were roasted.  He loves pumpkin seeds!

Little brother loved the pumpkin goo!  He squished and squashed and put it on his head…then started throwing it across the kitchen and onto the wall behind him.

This was the first year that big brother carved his own pumpkin all by himself!  He used the pumpkin carving kit and did the face on his own without help.  We think he did a terrific job!

Earlier in the week, we stuffed scarecrows to make a scarecrow family of us and had those out as our Halloween decorations.

We Absolutely Have the BEST Couples!

Mom Blogging:

Jason and I are completely humbled by how wonderful our couples are.  We get to meet some really amazing people.  When Casey and Nathan saw our “Feed the Hungry Can Contest” they sent us a package.  It was addressed to our 4 year old which was really exciting for him.  Along with a few cans and a gift card for more cans, they had sent monster bags with some toys and candy inside for the boys and a baby photo album for their little sister.  The card inside, again addressed to our son who had the idea for this contest, said:

“Nathan and I just want to thank you for putting together this canned goods food collection.  It is a wonderful reminder of how lucky we are and how necessary it is for us all to reach out and help anyone in need.  I hope you enjoy the goodies we have sent for you and your brother and sister.”

Thank you Casey and Nathan!  You two are awesome.  Stay in touch!

Our canned food drive ends Wednesday so contact us if you want to set up a time to drop off your food!

Walking with Dinosaurs at the St. Pete Times Forum

Dad Blogging:

My wife and son ROCK!  Yesterday I got an awesome surprise.  Right at dinner time I was told that I needed to get ready because I had to leave for something special very soon.  My son and I headed out the door with tickets in a sealed envelope and all my wife told me was that I needed to go to the St. Pete Times Forum.  She had dropped a few hints making me think I was taking our son to see the Star Wars Orchestra which I wanted to see but worried might be a bit much for a 4 year old.

When I got to the Forum I saw that we really had tickets for Walking with Dinosaurs!  It is a show with a paleontologist telling the history of dinosaurs with life-size dinosaurs bringing the story to life.  The larger dinosaurs weigh 1.6 TONS!  They had a brachiosaurus that was 36 feet tall and 56 feet long!  Of course my son’s favorite was the Tyrannosaurus Rex which had a very impressive and LOUD roar.  It was a great night spending some time with my son, and my wife is the best for setting up such a terrific surprise.
