Wedding at Mattison’s Riverside: Holly and David

Dad met Holly when she was a bridesmaid in Samantha and Jason’s wedding.  Holly’s big day came at the beginning of July when she married David.  Dad was happy to be there to witness Holly and David exchange their vows at the Palma Sola Presbyterian Church and then celebrate at their reception at Mattison’s Riverside Restaurant.  The greens, blues, and creams used as wedding colors came together in the flowers that were made by Flowers by Edie.  Wayne DeLair of DeLair Entertainment was the DJ at the reception and the cake was made by Mr. Cheesecake.  Dad got to catch up a bit with Samantha and Jason at the reception too!

Before the couple went to the reception, they stopped by a nearby restaurant.  Both Holly and David have memories of going there when they were young and they wanted to stop by to share a shake.  At the restaurant the couple saw the big sign had a message congratulating them!  How fun!  Congratulations newlyweds!  Thanks for being a terrific couple.  Dad had a great time sharing the start of your married life with you!

Marisol and Neil’s Wedding at Mixon’s in the Grove

Mixon Fruit Farm in Bradenton is a fun place.  Dad takes us there to do the tour and see the rescued animals.  We love the big tortoise!  At the farm they have Mixon’s in the Grove for weddings.  It is an historic citrus grove which is wonderful as a background for a Florida wedding.  Dad photographed Samantha and Jason’s wedding there and we LOVE that Samantha’s picture is on the front cover of the Mixon’s in the Grove wedding catalog!

There are a few more of dad’s images in the catalog so be sure to look through it.  It is a terrific venue and dad was excited to be there again a few weeks ago for Marisol and Neil’s wedding.  They say it is good luck to have it rain on your wedding day so Marisol and Neil are going to have a great life together!  The rain moved the ceremony into the pavilion and the reception continued there.  Dad’s favorite part of the reception were the hand painted candies.  They were gorgeous!!  The candies were made by Divinia Jeanne’s Chocolate Heaven (941-366-5888).  Congratulations Marisol and Neal!

The hand painted candies were in a variety of colors, all absolutely beautiful!

Leah and Andrew’s Wedding at the Lange Farm

Dad photographed Leah and Andrew’s engagement session 6 months ago and they had fun climbing onto buildings and splashing in the water.  Their wedding day was the Sunday after Thanksgiving at the Lange Farm.  This is one of dad’s most favorite locations for both the venue and the staff.  He loved being there for weddings two days in a row!  David and his wife from Trinity Wedding Video were the videographers and they are great to work with.  Leah had the wonderful Cari of Kyle Lynn for hair and makeup.  Mom loved how Leah’s hair and makeup looked!  Kathy from Northside Florist did the flowers and the always terrific Doug Decker from Grant Hemond was the DJ at the reception.

Leah and Andrew had a peacock theme for their wedding.  The shimmery greens and blues looked pretty together!  Peacock feathers lined the ceremony aisle, and guests had programs that fanned out just like a peacock’s tail feathers.  Reception centerpieces were bird cages filled with flowers and a peacock sitting on top.  It was such a unique and creative idea for a theme and the couple did an awesome job pulling it together and making it look beautiful.

Congratulations Leah and Andrew!

Leah’s dress had amazing detailing!  It was from Sarasota Brides.
