Bambi and Mark at the Lutheran Church of the Cross

On Sunday, Bambi and Mark had an awesome wedding in St. Petersburg.  Mark is a Pastor at the church that Stacy of Meant to Be Wed attends.  She got them in touch with dad and he had a great time photographing both their engagement session last month and the wedding!

Over a year ago, dad got to share in a very special day for Stacy and her husband.  He was there for a First Breath session, capturing the emotion of the day their daughter was born!  Dad had not seen their little girl since that day and was happy to see her at the wedding with Stacy.  She was of course so much bigger, and so adorable!

Bambi’s day started at the Number 9 Salon where her sister styled her hair.  Mom thinks it is really sweet that even Bambi’s getting ready on her wedding day was made more personal and meaningful by having her sister as the stylist.  Keeping the day special and meaningful, the ceremony took place at the Lutheran Church of the Cross in St. Petersburg where Mark is a Pastor.  The church was packed!  The couple invited everyone to join them in the Fellowship Hall after the ceremony for dancing and cake and dad said there had to have been several hundred people there to celebrate with Bambi and Mark.  How wonderful to be surrounded by so much love!  Rob Sword of Sword Sounds did a great job as always as the DJ for the cake reception.

After the Fellowship Hall, dad headed outside with Bambi, Mark, and their wedding party for pictures before heading to Mark’s house where the group relaxed and had some really yummy pizza.  That evening it was back to partying as they headed to Studio @ 620 in St. Petersburg for hors d’oeuvres and drinks.  There was also an ice cream bar there that dad can not stop talking about!  He keeps raving about their mint chocolate chip!  Dad brought home a couple of the homemade cookies that Bambi and Mark gave out as favors and those were delicious too.

It was a laid-back day filled with the love of family and friends.  Congratulations Bambi and Mark, and many blessings in your life together!

Mom loves Bambi’s shoes!

Bambi and Mark had some truly kind people with them on their day.  During the party at Studio @ 620, dad was talking to a mom there who had bought toy boats for her kids.  After dad talked about his own boys at home, she left and came back with boats for dad to bring home to us!  How nice is that?!!  We hope she reads this because we want to send her a big THANK YOU!  We love the boats and have already played with them lots!

‘Twas the Last Wedding Before Christmas

Last Monday dad photographed Anna and John’s wedding, the last wedding for dad before Christmas.  They were married on the beach and had their reception at Palma Sola Botanical Park.  Stacy from Meant to Be Wed was the coordinator and Rob Sword of Sword Sounds was the DJ for the reception.

Anna and John are from Wyoming and dad wanted them to get married there and have him photograph the wedding so he could enjoy the snow, but they had a warm Florida wedding day which we are sure their guests appreciated.  The weather was beautiful most of the day until just before the reception when it began to rain.  But to make it up to Anna and John, they were able to enjoy a pretty rainbow in the sky just before their reception entrance.

The guests all had a great time at the reception and partied on the dance floor most of the night.  Mom liked the couple’s cake topper, a Precious Moments couple with Mickey and Minnie wedding ears.  How great for a couple who are honeymooning here in Florida!

Congratulations Anna and John, and enjoy the Florida weather before you return home to Wyoming!

Mr. and Mrs. Coconut

Lynn and Matthew’s day finally arrived!  They booked with dad over a year ago and dad got to hang out with them for an engagement session and a family session.  They are such a kind and caring couple.  Mom has been following Lynn’s wedding planning process on both of her blogs.  Lynn is one of the bees on the Weddingbee website!  After seeing all of her fabulous ideas mom couldn’t wait to see the pictures from her wedding.

Stacy from Meant to Be Wed was the couple’s wedding coordinator and dad was excited to see her again and hear about her new (or not so new any more!) baby.  For hair and makeup, Lynn had the super talented and incredibly sweet Darla Stafford.  Mom thought Lynn’s hair looked so classic and bridal.  Lynn of course looked absolutely gorgeous in her Vera Wang gown.  And dad was thrilled to finally have a bride wear a bird cage veil!  Lynn wore it for some pictures during the couple’s first sight and then changed to a long veil for the ceremony.  At the reception, she had a cute hair pin as her accessory.

The wedding was held at the Magnolia Building in Lakeland and after a bit of an issue at the beginning of the couple’s planning with locations this site turned out to be the perfect place for their wedding.  Josh Gibson was the guitarist during the ceremony and dad said it was so sweet watching Lynn and Matthew exchange vows.  They were laughing and crying and so in love.  The officiant was John Melchinger from A Perfect Witness.

Echo Media Group was the couple’s videographer and the reception lighting was designed by Frank from Musitech (727-385-0800).  Rob Sword from Sword Sounds was the DJ and as always dad really enjoyed working with him!

Lynn and Matthew set up a “photo booth” during their reception for their guests to take some fun pictures and mom thought it was so funny when she saw the newlyweds in their “I Love Lynn” and “I Love Matthew” shirts with the silly props.  The photo booth was just one of many details that made the couple’s wedding so special.  The caramel apple favors, the flip flops in the wedding colors for all the guests to dance in, the gorgeous letterpress stationary, the multi-tiered cake with signs to describe the various flavors, and all the other little touches came together wonderfully.

Lynn and Matthew are going to have such a happy life together as husband and wife.  They are a terrific couple and they know they better stay in touch!
