Kalyn’s Baby Bump

We are so excited for this growing family! Dad photographed Kalyn and Daniel’s wedding in 2008 and they came back for her super fun maternity session at the beach which dad is helping us blog about. Kalyn has such an amazing glow and Daniel is thrilled to become a daddy! They had so much fun at the session, from shooting in a hole to seeing Daniel jump for joy :) . Congratulations and we can’t wait to meet your beautiful baby.

We normally don’t put baby names on the blog but mom loved this picture lots and Kalyn said it was okay so we wanted to share!

Monica’s Maternity Session at Fort DeSoto

Early in the morning on the Tuesday after Christmas dad met Monica and Jeff at Fort DeSoto for a maternity session.  On that day three years before, dad was with Monica and Jeff as Monica’s sister Rachel married Seth in a beautiful ceremony by the water.  It has been wonderful for us to keep in touch with Rachel and Seth and to meet and photograph their adorable son!  Now their son will soon have a new cousin and on Rachel and Seth’s anniversary dad was with Monica and Jeff, photographing Jeff playing the guitar for his baby just as he played the guitar during the wedding ceremony three years before.  We LOVE what we do!

Blondie

Dad first met Carrie and Josh’s son when he was six weeks old.  In the blog entry from his baby session, we talked about his full head of dark hair.  It is so funny reading that blog post now because we warned Carrie that hair color changes.  Here is what we said to her in that blog post:

“When Carrie first emailed about a portrait session for her six-week old baby boy, she said that seeing pictures on the blog of us as babies reminded her of her son because he also had a full head of dark hair.  Mom saw pictures of Carrie’s little boy and agrees!  But dad warned Carrie that it still might change; both of us have much lighter hair now and one of us is even almost blond!”

Despite this warning, dad almost did not believe this was the same kid when he saw him the Friday before last for his 1 year session.  He was blond!  It was so much fun to see him explore at Fort DeSoto and then dig into his birthday cake.  Dad says Carrie, Josh, and their son are an awesome family.  We can’t wait to see what their little boy looks like for his next session :) .

First Birthday at the Beach

A little over a year ago, dad met Lindsey and Bernard’s baby girl for her newborn session.  He got to see her again the week before last but now she was a toddler walking all around!  Her parents are just as madly in love with her and dad said it was great seeing Lindsey’s face light up every time she looked at her daughter.  It was a fun day at the beach complete with a cake smashing to end the afternoon.  Happy first birthday!

Stephanie and Adam’s Engagement Session

Wednesday dad was back at Fort DeSoto for Stephanie and Adam’s engagement session.  With their wedding just about two and a half months away, it was great to spend an evening with them building the anticipation of their big day.  They are so sweet with each other and when they look at each other you can see how happy they are.  Thanks for a fun session and dad will see you both again soon!

Leah and Andrew’s Engagement Session

Leah and Andrew are getting married in November; 6 months to go!  They met up with dad at Fort DeSoto for their engagement session on Tuesday evening.  They were a lot of fun and were up for climbing, getting in the water, and any of dad’s other ideas.  Dad thought they were a great couple and can tell that their wedding is going to be terrific!  We can’t wait!

My Three Sons

For those who didn’t watch Nick at Nite back when the shows really were classic television, My Three Sons was a show in the 60′s and was one of the longest running family sitcoms.  James and Lara’s family really doesn’t have anything in common with the plot of the show, but they are the proud parents to three boys so the theme song to the show kept coming into mom’s head as she was looking through their pictures.  Their boys are all under five, with the youngest just turning one.  We would have so much fun playing with them!

Dad met up with their family last Friday afternoon at Fort DeSoto for a family session and a super fun smash the cake session to celebrate the youngest’s first birthday!  Dad was also happy to see Stephanie, the family’s nanny.  Dad will be photographing Stephanie and Louis’s wedding in May!

Dad had fun running around with the boys inside the fort and screaming to hear the echos they made.  The boys were all so cute and it was a fun afternoon of exploring “secret passages” and obliterating a birthday cake.

Happy First Birthday!
