Wedding at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens: Martha and Drew

A movie theme, lots of bright colors, and a beautiful sunset made Martha and Drew’s wedding day a terrific event.  Martha started her day at Les Ciseaux Salon and Spa for hair and makeup before heading over to her venue, the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens.  Michelle of Milan Catering and Event Design was the wedding coordinator and Milan Catering also made dinner at the reception.

The always sweet Grace Felice of A Wedding with Grace was the officiant. As Jason waited for the ceremony to start he saw a guest jump out of her seat and move over.  The processional began and Jason watched as a snake soon made its way under the guests’ seats, down the aisle, and away from the ceremony site. A husband and wife in a garden, complete with a snake…it is like Adam and Eve!  When the ceremony was done they saw one more snake in a tree as well though it hid again quickly.

Jason loved the reception decor.  Centerpieces were white and yellow flowers in red and white striped popcorn containers and there were favor bags of popcorn as well.  The napkins were each a different bright color which went great with the bridesmaids’ gowns.  There were lots of movie signs and behind the head table there was a personalized sign made to look like movie film with the couple’s initials on it.  The wedding cake from Publix continued the movie theme and had a cute cake topper representing Martha and Drew.  Fitz Otis of Jay Goodley Entertainment was the DJ at the reception.

The colorful attire and the fun movie theme made Martha and Drew’s wedding represent their personalities and interests.  The best weddings are always the ones where family and friends can see parts of the bride and groom in all of the details.  It was a wonderful day and we wish all the best to Martha and Drew!

Wedding at the Powel Crosley Estate: Lindsey and Spencer

Just a month before their wedding dad met Lindsey and Spencer and photographed their engagement session.  They were so friendly and happy at their session that dad knew their wedding day was going to be one with lots of laughter and love.  They were married at the beautiful Powel Crosley Estate in Sarasota.  The couple had Debbie from Hearts Video as their videographer. Lindsey and Spencer had their first sight before the ceremony and the smiles did not leave their faces from the second they saw each other.  Dad captured their first sight at the Crosley and then took some bride and groom pictures and bridal party pictures at USF.

The ceremony was by the water under a bamboo canopy covered in fabric and decorated with flowers from Publix.  The couple’s dog was the ring dog and wore a decorated collar with purple flowers since purple was the wedding color.  We are animal lovers too and dad loves when people have their animals as part of their day!

At the reception the DJ was DJ Fitz of Jay Goodley Entertainment, the food was from Milan Catering, and Publix made the cake.  There was lots of fun and dancing as everyone celebrated Lindsey and Spencer’s big day.  Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. and we hope the honeymoon cruise was awesome!

Wedding at Mattison’s Riverside Restaurant: Lauren and Brock

Dad enjoyed spending the day with Lauren and Brock at their engagement session so he knew he was going to have fun with them on their big day.  They are a down-to-earth, happy couple and their wedding day was a beautiful and fun event!  Lauren had her hair and makeup done at her bridesmaid’s salon, Southern Roots salon in Sarasota.  Everyone then headed over to Mattison’s Riverside Restaurant where the wedding was going to take place.  Bee Ridge Florist did a terrific job on the flowers and the purple hydrangea and green orchids in Lauren’s bouquet looked pretty!  Before the ceremony Lauren and Brock had a first sight where they were able to spend a few minutes alone with each other taking in the excitement of the day before gathering their family and wedding party for the group pictures.

After the ceremony dad spent time with Lauren and Brock for their bride and groom pictures before they entered the reception.  The purple and green wedding colors were used in the menu and favor tags at each place setting as well as the table centerpieces.  Dad loved seeing all the engagement images that the couple used at their reception.  A large framed picture was the guest signature mat, there was a photo book of images telling all about their session, and the guest book table had pictures framed in modern green and purple frames which mom really loved!  The DJ for the reception was DJ Fitz from Jay Goodley Entertainment and the cake was made by Pastries by Design.

Lauren and Brock were the epitome of “the happy couple.”  They smiled and laughed and enjoyed every second of their wedding day!  Dad said anyone with them couldn’t help but smile and share in their happiness too.  Congratulations to Lauren and Brock!  We hope Cancun was awesome!

Lissie and Patrick at the Crosley

Bright and colorful weddings are awesome!  Lissie and Patrick were married on Friday at the Powel Crosley Estate in Sarasota.  Instead of choosing one or two colors as the wedding colors, they chose navy as a main color with lots of vibrant colors every where throughout the day.  Bridesmaids all carried bouquets in different colors to match their shoes.  The Maid of Honor carried a bouquet with lots of colors and had the coolest shoes!  They were blue with multi-colored polka dots on them.  At the ceremony, programs were printed on fans which were all different colors.  The couple had encouraged guests to wear hats and some of them had really fun ones!  Dad’s favorites were the wide brimmed colorful sun hats.

At the reception, guests could change into flip flops the couple had put out as dancing shoes.  Fitz from Jay Goodley Entertainment was the DJ to get everyone dancing.  Some tables had centerpieces of fish bowls with live fish, and there were also colorful flower arrangements to look like the tops of small potted trees.  Color was every where and it made the wedding festive and fun.  Lissie and Patrick did a wonderful job with the details of their day and it all came out beautifully.  Congratulations newlyweds!

Melissa and Brian at Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club

Friday was Melissa and Brian’s wedding day at  Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club in Bradenton.  Dad had photographed the couple’s engagement session in Orlando and they were really sweet.  He knew their wedding was going to be terrific.

Melissa had her hair styled by Jen Carr and her makeup done by Kristine Aronson of Fabulous Faces.  She looked so pretty!  The bridesmaids wore brown dresses from JCrew to match the wedding colors of brown and pink.  Mom wishes JCrew would start making maternity clothes!  Flowers by Don created the bouquets and floral arrangements in pink and white.

Before the ceremony, Melissa and Brian had a first sight where they alone shared that special moment of seeing each other for the first time.  They were then able to have most of their family groups and wedding party pictures done before the ceremony so that they could spend more time with their guests afterward.

Three members of the couple’s wedding party were notaries so Melissa and Brian’s ceremony was made even more meaningful by having their close friends officiate.  Dad said it was emotional to watch the parents get teary during the vows.  For the reception, the couple had Fitz Otis from Jay Goodley Entertainment as the DJ and Beautiful Cakes by Ron make their brown and white decorated wedding cake.  It was a beautiful wedding and we wish Melissa and Brian all the best in their life as husband and wife.  Congratulations!
