Wedding at South Seas Island Resort: Natalie and Robert

Natalie and Robert came to Florida for their beautiful beach wedding at the South Seas Island Resort.  They had Rob of AMC Video Productions as their videographer, Ruth of Captiva Blooms for flowers, DJ Jeff Key, and a wedding cake made by Kakes by Karen.  After their sweet ceremony on the beach they took family pictures and then bride and groom pictures where the bright blue sky turned into a gorgeous sunset for the couple.  The reception was a lot of fun with great food and a full dance floor.

Congratulations Natalie and Robert!  It was a wonderful wedding day!

Beautiful “Thank You” from Lisa and Joe and Their Pictures on AMC’s Blog

We got the best mail today!  Lisa and Joe, who were married in Sanibel a few months ago (click here for their blog post), sent us a beautiful accordion folding thank you card with the nicest message inside:

Dear Jason and Lucia,

We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts.  Our pictures are amazing.  From the unbelievable engagement session (people still question if the Times Square shot was photoshopped) to our wedding, you captured such amazing moments. Thank you so much!

With all our love,

Joseph and Lisa

They are just a wonderful couple and we are so happy we were able to be a part of their wedding.  We hope they stay in touch through the years!  Dad said that they can expect visits from him whenever he goes up to NYC.  Maybe one day in the future he can photograph a newborn session for them up there:).

AMC Video was the videographer at Lisa and Joe’s wedding and they just blogged about it and shared some of the images dad took on their day.  Check out their blog update:  Lisa and Joe – Sanibel Harbor Resort

Gotta Share Videos…

Mom Blogging:

Browsing through wedding blogs and talking with other vendors in the wedding industry on Twitter, I come across links for wedding videos that I love and just have to share.  Jason sent me a link to a wedding music video by Lockdown Projects, an awesome company in the UK that Jason also likes because they are big in the snowboard industry.  I think this is just the coolest idea ever, and what a perfect song choice too!  You have to watch this!

I found the next video on Twitter when BrideTide gave the link from the Bride Tide Blog.  I am a big sap, but it made me teary-eyed seeing what wonderful friends the couple had.  I want to know what church let the wedding party do this!  Most churches out here have lots of rules about the ceremony.  Who has a fun wedding party?  It would be so cool for someone to do something like this for the reception entrance!

Finally AMC Video, a wonderful videography company that Jason has worked with in the Naples/Fort Myers area, had a clip of a funny and unique toast to a bride and groom on their blog.

Hope those give all of you a good laugh, and maybe a couple ideas for planning something fun and unique for your own weddings!

Lisa and Joe in Sanibel

Though dad just got back from a trip to New York City without us, last summer we all got to go there on a family vacation.  While we were there, dad met up with Lisa and Joe and photographed their engagement session.  They are incredibly nice and lots of fun!  Dad has been looking forward to their wedding ever since the session.

Saturday Lisa and Joe’s wedding day finally arrived!  The couple had the wonderful wedding planners of Weddings by Socialites to help them with their day.  Dad said they were terrific to work with!  Rob and his team from AMC Video were the videographers and they were great as well.  The couple had their ceremony at the Sundial Beach and Golf Resort with the reception following at the Sanibel Harbour Resort and Spa.

Dad loved seeing so many of the couple’s engagement pictures used at the wedding.  The front of the reception room had a big canvas of the couple in Times Square on display.  Tables were named by Italian words with a corresponding picture from the engagement session, and the guest book was an album of engagement images.  It was a terrific way to personalize the reception and bring NYC to Florida.

Many of the guests were from out of town and came down to celebrate with Lisa and Joe and enjoy the Florida sun.  The bride and groom set up lots of yummy treats for their guests including a sundae bar, cookies, a table with tons of candy, and a special surprise for everyone, a nutella station.  Lisa and Joe, carrying giant spoons, brought out the nutella with the song Pure Imagination from Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory playing.  Dad loves that song and thought it was an awesome choice!  Guest favors were silver spoons to use with the nutella.

It was a wonderful day and we are so happy for Lisa and Joe!  Congratulations you two, and be sure to stay in touch!  Dad will probably be making another trip to NYC late this summer and hopes you can get together while he’s there.

The kids at the wedding had so much fun at their special kids’ table.  It was named “Ridere” which means laughter in Italian, and the engagement picture on the table marker is of Joe putting ice cream on Lisa’s face.

Brie and Rich

We’re back from Georgia and it was so nice to have a weekend away. We had some quality family time during the road trip and with mom while dad was at the wedding. And mom went to bed early each night and caught up on sleep! Thanks so much to Kelly and Ryan for having dad up there to photograph your wedding. We’ll have some pictures on the blog for you soon!

We didn’t get a chance to blog about it before we left, but last Sunday was Brie and Rich’s wedding. Their engagement session was on our old blog and we just blogged about Brie’s bridal session last month. Dad had been looking forward to their wedding!

Brie had the amazing Darla Stafford there for hair and makeup. Darla not only does a great job with hair and makeup, but dad says he also appreciates how Darla is always careful about timing and making sure things don’t run too far behind.

Brie and her bridesmaids got ready at the Doubletree near the reception site and dad met them there.

The ceremony was at Prince of Peace Lutheran in Largo. The pastor must have had a very bad experience with photographers in the past because he was stringent about the “rules” and even stopped as he was walking down the aisle to remind dad about them. But dad was fine with it and it was a very nice ceremony. Dana Dineen was the florist and put together beautiful alter pieces with branches and hanging red ferns as accents. She also did the bouquets and made sure to include a small red accent flower for the bridesmaids.

The reception was held at the Rusty Pelican and when dad first got there it was too rainy for the bride and groom and bridal party pictures they had planned to do outside. But the rain eventually let up and Brie and Rich got some great night pictures in front of the water.

The videographer for the wedding was AMC Video. Dad has worked with Annmarie before but this was his first time working with Rob. The other Rob at the wedding was Rob Sword of Sword Sounds who was the DJ. Dad had just worked with him the night before as well! He is terrific.

Brie, Rich, and all of their family and friends were so kind and dad came home telling mom how friendly everyone was all day long. Brie and Rich are a loving couple and we know they are going to build a beautiful life together. You two better be sure to stay in touch!!!
