Boston Wedding: Celia and Jake at the deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum

We first talked to Celia and Jake two years ago when Celia sent us an email asking about having Jason as her photographer.  We knew from the beginning that they would be a fun couple as Celia shared some of their likes and dislikes, including her love of baking and Jake’s love of penguins.  We kept in touch with emails through their planning and we were excited for them as wedding details started to come together and even more excited when they officially decided to have us on their wedding team for what was sure to be a fantastic wedding in the Boston area!  Jason met them for their mini golf engagement session a year ago and their personalities were the same in person as they were through the emails.  They were a blast to hang out with, creative, super nice, and perfect for each other.  Jason could not wait to see them again in Boston for their wedding.

When Jason arrived at his hotel in Boston, Celia and Jake had a welcome package waiting complete with wedding info, a map of Boston, a brochure of their venue, and yummy treats like a lobster lollipop and Cape Cod potato chips.  The wedding weekend started with the couple’s rehearsal.  Paula of Marrero Events was the wedding planner and Jason enjoyed meeting her as everyone gathered at the couple’s beautiful venue, the deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum, to practice for the big day.  After the rehearsal Celia and Jake hosted a welcome dinner at Jasper White’s Summer Shack Restaurant.  It was a great evening with Celia, Jake, and their close friends and family.

The next morning Jason was at the Westin Waltham Boston to join Celia as she got ready for her wedding day!  Christine and Holly of Wedding Tresses were there doing hair and makeup for the girls.  Everyone then headed over to the venue where Celia and Jake had their first sight.  It was wonderful to see the emotion in that moment.  When they looked at each other, you could see that Celia and Jake are two best friends who are completely in love.  Boston Wedding Films was the videographer for the wedding and they were awesome.  Other vendors for the day included Karla Cassidy Designs for flowers, Different Tastes as the caterer, cupcakes from Jenny’s Wedding Cakes, and the DJ from C-Zone Music.

It was an amazing wedding day.  You could see the thought and hard work that Celia and Jake put into every detail to make sure that their wedding vision came to life and that it reflected them as a couple.  The origami at the ceremony, the reading of Me Too Iguana, a Chinese Tea Ceremony, lion dancers, a lounge area at the reception, a photo booth, and beautiful red details made Celia and Jake’s day unique and a perfect fit for the two of them.  Jason was honored to be there to share in the day and capture the memories.  Thank you so much to the Celia and Jake!  It is you two who are Amaze-Balls!!!  It was a gorgeous wedding for an awesome couple and we are so happy to have been part of it.  Please be sure to stay in touch!

Boston Wedding at the Black Rock Country Club: Cindy and Bruce

Dad could not wait for Cindy and Bruce’s wedding and he had such an awesome time!  Dad knew they were a terrific couple from the fun time he had with them at their engagement session, so he knew that their wedding would be great no matter what.  But dad was even more excited because he got to join them for their wedding in Boston!  There is nothing better than autumn in New England.

Dad started the weekend by joining the couple for their rehearsal dinner at the Boston Marriott Quincy.  He loved seeing pictures from the engagement session used on many of the details.  Cindy and Bruce’s family and friends were all so nice and so excited for the bride and groom on the eve of their wedding!

The next morning dad was at the Boston Marriott Quincy again as the couple got ready.  Leslie of Planned Perfectly was the couple’s wedding planner and dad enjoyed working with her.  Focal Point Cinematic was the videographer and they were also from out of state.  Cindy had her hair and makeup done by Carolina of From Hair to Eternity.  Cindy wore her hair in loose curls pinned back on the top.  She was such a pretty bride!  She lit up the room with the smile she wore all day long.

With the wedding taking place at the start of fall in Massachusetts, the couple had a fall theme for their big day.  The wedding colors were brown and orange but Cindy and Bruce brightened it up with accents of a crisp apple green.  Jen of The Tangled Web was the florist and put together the orange and green bouquets and boutonnieres.  Mom’s favorite was the orange floral centerpieces on top of floating green apples.  Everything went so well together!

The wedding was held at the Black Rock Country Club in Hingham.  DJ Jeanie from Curtis Knight Entertainment was the DJ for the reception.  The cake was made by Konditor Meister.  To go with their fall theme, the couple had brown linens with gold plates and at every place setting was a caramel apple as the favors.  Along with the floral and apple centerpieces there were centerpieces made up of a group of tall candles with a green base surrounded by orange flower petals.  The reception room looked gorgeous.

Cindy and Bruce, dad had an absolutely amazing time with the two of you and all of your family and friends!  Thank you so much for having him there to share in your wedding weekend.  The wedding was beautiful and the love the two of you share is just as beautiful.  Enjoy your Hawaiian honeymoon!

Dad took the couple out during the reception for some pictures by the fire pit.  We promise that we did not photoshop the fire to create this image!  Can you see what mom and dad saw when they first looked at this picture?  How cool is that?!!

Jennifer and Alex’s Indian Sangeet

An Indian Sangeet is a pre-wedding celebration for people to dance, have fun, and build the excitement for the wedding.  Dad joined Jennifer and Alex the day before their wedding to celebrate their sangeet ceremony.  Another Indian tradition is the Mehndi ceremony and Jennifer had mehndi, or henna, applied to her hands and feet.  The bridal mehendi is said to signify the strength of the bride’s marriage.  It is usually a detailed design with the groom’s name included.  Jennifer looked amazing in her Indian bridal attire!

At the celebration there was Indian dancing, a mehendi artist for the guests, and more Indian wedding traditions.  Dad enjoyed watching the custom of male relatives of the bride and groom exchanging garland to show the two families coming together.  It was a terrific evening!  Dad also got to see Brie and Rich again which is always a great time.

Pictures from the ceremony on Saturday will be blogged soon!

Clearwater Beach Wedding: Sommer and Kyle

Sommer and Kyle had their rehearsal dinner at Crabby Bill’s Seafood.  They had dad there to capture all the fun of family and friends getting together with anticipation for the next day.  It was a fun night with dinner, a slide show, toasts, and guests enjoying games of Gators bean bag toss.

The wedding the next day was at the Clearwater Beach Recreation Center.  Shawna with Flawless Occasions was the couple’s coordinator and she is a blast to work with.  Dad also got to see the talented and kind Darla Stafford who was there for hair and makeup.  Dana Dineen put together the beautiful flowers and the officiant at the ceremony was Pastor Dean Ryder.  For the reception, lighting and drapery was done by Weddings Done Bright and the room looked pretty with the pink uplighting and gobo light of the couple’s names on the dance floor.  Sommer and Kyle had a terrific team of vendors which continued with Wayne DeLair of DeLair Entertainment as the DJ.  Delectables was the caterer and the Island Way Publix made the couple’s cake.

Sommer and Kyle are an awesome couple and dad loved spending their wedding weekend with them!  Thanks Sommer and Kyle for being so wonderful!  The newlyweds are heading off to Mexico for their honeymoon.  Have fun!

Isle Mujeres, Mexico: Part Two – Welcome Dinner

The night before their wedding, Patty and Jason had a welcome dinner for family and friends.  It was held on the rooftop of their villas, the El Castillo Maya and the Casa Azul Del Caribe.  It was relaxed night for people to have a good time together, enjoy some yummy authentic Mexican food, and look forward to the excitement of the next day.  Patty, Jason, and their amazing family and friends made dad feel so welcome and were super friendly!  He felt right at home hanging out with everyone.

Patty and Jason are just an amazing couple.  Patty is a designer for Hallmark and Jason is an amazing artist.  We checked out his portfolio on his website and his talent is obvious.  Patty and Jason have been together for ten years and met, appropriately, working in an art store.  Mom loved their proposal story!  Jason knew the best way to surprise Patty was to propose in an everyday situation.  They were out walking their dog when Jason pulled out the ring and asked Patty to marry him, to which she replied “Yes, of course!” after her initial surprise about being proposed to while she held a bag of poop in her hand!  Mom couldn’t help but laugh at that story.

Here are a few pictures from the welcome dinner, and we will share images from the fantastic wedding very soon!
