Leighann’s Back in the Dress Session at Fort Desoto

Jason always has a blast with Leighann and Trevor. They like to laugh and have a good time and just be themselves which is a wonderful thing. Jason has photographed their engagement session and wedding. He met them at the beach for a Back in the Dress session at sunset. It was a lot of splashy romantic silly fun!

The day after their wedding, Miranda and Dan met up with Jason at Fort Desoto for a Back in the Dress session. They had a great time splashing around in the water and enjoying a beautiful day at the beach. Congratulations again to the newlyweds! Session at Fort Desoto: Nichole is Back in the Dress

Nichole and Rizal have to hurry and start trying for babies because dad is going to miss them if they don’t have a reason to have another session soon! Dad has photographed their engagement session, Nichole’s gorgeous bridal portraits, and their beach wedding. He met them at Fort Desoto last week for their Back in the Dress session. These are sometimes called Trash the Dress sessions but out of them that dad has photographed the only session that actual trashed their dress so that it couldn’t be later cleaned and preserved was from a paintball session!

The newlyweds brought their two dogs with them for some pictures. We are animal lovers and it was fun for dad to get some pictures of their dogs playing at the beach too. The session ended with the couple splashing around in the water having fun and enjoying their time together. Those pictures are some of mom’s favorites because their smiles really show what newlywed bliss looks like. We hope they have those same genuine happy smiles for each other throughout their marriage!

We loved sharing in Nichole and Rizal’s memories. They are a terrific couple and dad enjoyed all the time he spent with them. Nichole and Rizal, we will be waiting patiently to photograph the maternity session!

Nichole’s Bridal Session at the Kissimmee Airfield

We’ve been excited to share images from Nichole’s bridal session on the blog but we’ve been waiting until after the wedding. Nichole and Rizal were married on Saturday so now we can show some of the bridal session pictures! Dad met Nichole at an airfield in Kissimmee for the session. Nichole had sent Rizal flying there as a gift before and he loved it so it was a place with some meaning to their relationship. Nichole looked amazing! Mom always loves the look of birdcage veils and Nichole had a pretty feather accent in her hair for even more of a vintage look. The people at the airfield told dad that he might be able to see the shuttle launch that day from where they were but it was too cloudy for him to see anything.

Back in the Dress: Casey and Scott

Casey and Scott were married one year ago this month on the beach. Dad wasn’t there for their big day but they wanted dad to take some bride and groom pictures of them in their wedding attire. In Casey’s email she said they could just “throw their clothes on” for a session. Mom says she wishes she could throw on some clothes, even beautiful wedding clothes, and look as good as Casey and Scott did! Casey’s gown was romantic and feminine with the ruffles and lace. Her hair piece went well with the vintage look of the gown. Scott looked dapper in his tux as well! They walked around the Don CeSar before enjoying a gorgeous sunset on the beach.

We hope you have a wonderful first anniversary Casey and Scott!

Jennifer and Alex’s Indian Sangeet

An Indian Sangeet is a pre-wedding celebration for people to dance, have fun, and build the excitement for the wedding. Dad joined Jennifer and Alex the day before their wedding to celebrate their sangeet ceremony. Another Indian tradition is the Mehndi ceremony and Jennifer had mehndi, or henna, applied to her hands and feet. The bridal mehendi is said to signify the strength of the bride’s marriage. It is usually a detailed design with the groom’s name included. Jennifer looked amazing in her Indian bridal attire!

At the celebration there was Indian dancing, a mehendi artist for the guests, and more Indian wedding traditions. Dad enjoyed watching the custom of male relatives of the bride and groom exchanging garland to show the two families coming together. It was a terrific evening! Dad also got to see Brie and Rich again which is always a great time.

Amy’s Bok Tower Garden Bridals

Dad assisting again . A few weeks ago Dad had a great time photographing Amy’s bridal session. We recently posted about Amy and Evan’s fun wedding (also did their engagement session) and now that the wedding is over we can share these pictures of Amy without having to worry about Evan taking a peek before the big day!

Bridal sessions are a great way to capture images of the beautiful bride without the wedding day time constraints. Dad met Amy, her mom and grandma at the wonderful Bok Tower Gardens. Despite being blown around by the wind and being attacked by an over zealous swan (dad even had his shoes pecked at) they found some great locations to photograph the awesomeness of Amy. Enjoy!

Stacy Trashes Her Dress…Or At Least Gets it Wet.

The Monday after Stacy and Chi’s wedding, they went out to the beach with dad for a Trash the Dress session. Despite the name of these sessions, the gowns usually survive without any damage Trinity Wedding Video was there to capture the fun. Stacy and Chi were fantastic and dad had a great time!

Elaine Back in the Dress

Sunday evening dad met Elaine and her husband for a session in Ybor. Elaine wanted some edgy, urban style pictures back in her wedding gown. The three of them explored the streets of Ybor as the sun set and ended the session enjoying the city lights. Elaine looked so pretty and was great about getting a little dirty for some pictures .

Back in the Dress

While we were in DC, dad got to have fun with Kendra who got back in her dress for a bridal session in Georgetown. Kendra and Brandon were married in Tampa in November and Kendra wanted a few more pictures in her gown. Who wouldn’t when it is a gorgeous Jim Hjelm gown (JH8814 from the Jim Hjelm bridal Spring 2008 collection)! Mom was looking through the Jim Hjelm website and when she saw the gown she recognized it right away as the one Kendra wore. She looks stunning in it!

The weather was very cold and there was even still snow on the ground but Kendra was awesome. Looking at the pictures you can’t even tell that she is freezing so much that her fingertips went numb!

Kendra, dad loved doing the session so don’t feel like you were “dragging him away” at all! It was a highlight of our trip for him to get to take some beautiful pictures somewhere new. Thanks for braving the weather for the session!
