Wedding at Highland Manor: Erin and Cody

After a gorgeous engagement session with Erin and Cody, Jason was looking forward to being there to photograph their wedding day.  The wedding was at the historic Highland Manor near Orlando.  Erin was such a beautiful bride, and Cody’s orange checkered bow tie and compass boutonniere looked super cool.  The bride and groom had a First Sight after getting ready, though the rain kept them in the covered areas or inside.  Rain on a wedding day is good luck though!

At the ceremony, Erin and Cody had a really unique twist on the unity tradition.  Instead of candles or sand, the bride and groom had their moms pour whiskey from containers personalized with their last names into glasses.  Erin and Cody then poured those glasses into a whiskey barrel personalized with their new last name and wedding date.  It will be a fun anniversary when they open that!  They can also look forward to messages from their guests on each of their anniversaries.  At the reception, they had guests write a message, roll the paper, and put it into a bottle marked with an anniversary year.  How fun that on their 50th anniversary they’ll be reading messages guests left them on their wedding day!  Guests also suggested date ideas written on sticks for a date jar, though some ideas sounded a little less romantic than others 😉

Out of all the unique and meaningful details, the one Jason came home talking about was the creative cupcakes.  Not only were there key lime cupcakes and cupcakes with mini chocolate chip cookies on top, but guests were also treated to cinnamon sugar cupcakes with candied bacon on top!  Yum!

Jason had fun with a couple familiar faces at the reception, and all the guests had a blast.  The night ended with a bubble departure for the bride and groom.  Congratulations Erin and Cody!
