Newborn Session: Stacy, Brian, Big Sister, and Little Brother

Stacy and Brian brought over their baby boy just four days after he was born.  Big sister was there too and she looked so much bigger since we had seen her last, especially when holding her little brother!  They are adorable kids and their family is blessed.  It is wonderful for us to be able to capture some of these sweet memories for them.  Congratulations Stacy, Brian, and big sister!

Boston Wedding: Celia and Jake at the deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum

We first talked to Celia and Jake two years ago when Celia sent us an email asking about having Jason as her photographer.  We knew from the beginning that they would be a fun couple as Celia shared some of their likes and dislikes, including her love of baking and Jake’s love of penguins.  We kept in touch with emails through their planning and we were excited for them as wedding details started to come together and even more excited when they officially decided to have us on their wedding team for what was sure to be a fantastic wedding in the Boston area!  Jason met them for their mini golf engagement session a year ago and their personalities were the same in person as they were through the emails.  They were a blast to hang out with, creative, super nice, and perfect for each other.  Jason could not wait to see them again in Boston for their wedding.

When Jason arrived at his hotel in Boston, Celia and Jake had a welcome package waiting complete with wedding info, a map of Boston, a brochure of their venue, and yummy treats like a lobster lollipop and Cape Cod potato chips.  The wedding weekend started with the couple’s rehearsal.  Paula of Marrero Events was the wedding planner and Jason enjoyed meeting her as everyone gathered at the couple’s beautiful venue, the deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum, to practice for the big day.  After the rehearsal Celia and Jake hosted a welcome dinner at Jasper White’s Summer Shack Restaurant.  It was a great evening with Celia, Jake, and their close friends and family.

The next morning Jason was at the Westin Waltham Boston to join Celia as she got ready for her wedding day!  Christine and Holly of Wedding Tresses were there doing hair and makeup for the girls.  Everyone then headed over to the venue where Celia and Jake had their first sight.  It was wonderful to see the emotion in that moment.  When they looked at each other, you could see that Celia and Jake are two best friends who are completely in love.  Boston Wedding Films was the videographer for the wedding and they were awesome.  Other vendors for the day included Karla Cassidy Designs for flowers, Different Tastes as the caterer, cupcakes from Jenny’s Wedding Cakes, and the DJ from C-Zone Music.

It was an amazing wedding day.  You could see the thought and hard work that Celia and Jake put into every detail to make sure that their wedding vision came to life and that it reflected them as a couple.  The origami at the ceremony, the reading of Me Too Iguana, a Chinese Tea Ceremony, lion dancers, a lounge area at the reception, a photo booth, and beautiful red details made Celia and Jake’s day unique and a perfect fit for the two of them.  Jason was honored to be there to share in the day and capture the memories.  Thank you so much to the Celia and Jake!  It is you two who are Amaze-Balls!!!  It was a gorgeous wedding for an awesome couple and we are so happy to have been part of it.  Please be sure to stay in touch!

Sanibel Island Family Session on the Beach

The weather didn’t look so great as Jason drove down to Sanibel to meet with Corinna and her family for a beach session.  In fact, it was storming just a few miles away from the island and Jason felt certain that the family was going to have their session inside Corinna’s parents’ house.  He felt bad because he knew how much they wanted to go to the beach.  But as he got closer he saw that on the island itself it wasn’t raining!  Corinna and her family headed to the beach with Jason and they had a wonderful time at their family session.  Corinna’s two girls were adorable and I love the silly sister pictures!  Thanks to the whole family for a fun evening on the beach.

Summer Never Ends: Our Son’s Four Year Session at the Beach

Though in most places September is the start of fall, our son loves the beach and he asked to have his four year session there.  As soon as he got to the water there was no stopping his fun!  He is definitely much more of a Florida person than anyone else in our family.  When I look back at pictures of him through the past four years (his 1 year session, 2 year session, and 3 year session) I am so shocked at how quickly time goes by.  I recently heard a quote that I think describes motherhood, and especially being a mom to our four year old, perfectly.  It says, “The days are long…but the years are short.”  Our son has so much energy and so much personality and by the end of some days I thank God for bed time.  But when I look at these pictures of him I get teary-eyed knowing that time keeps going by so fast and soon these days of him running around just being a kid will be gone.  He’ll be busy with friends and school and whatever else he might be into and I know I’ll miss every moment of these days, even the ones that try my patience right now.  His personality is this terrific combination of loving and sweet with dynamic and spirited.  I hope that he never loses his spunk and his sense of adventure!

Smiles that Melt Your Heart: Our Daughter’s Two Year Session

Now that we share most of our family news and pictures on our Facebook page Jason was teasing me about forgetting to share our kids’ birthday sessions here on the blog as well.  Our daughter had her two year session last month.  She is such a blessing to us!  She is imaginative and helpful and so so smart.  Even before she turned two she could carry on full conversations with you and her vocabulary is incredible!  People don’t believe me when I tell them that she just turned two because they say they’ve never heard a two year old who can communicate so well.  Her smile makes me so happy and her “mad face” cracks me up!  She is definitely an independent person and it is hard not to laugh when she gives people her little attitude.  I do my best not to show her how cute it is so that I don’t encourage it!  Jason and I thank God for the gift of her as our daughter.
