Farrah and Paul at the Tradewinds Island Grand

Farrah and Paul came from the UK for their destination wedding here on Wednesday.  It was held at the Tradewinds Island Grand on St. Pete Beach.  The wonderful Beth of Flawless Occasions was the planner for the wedding and dad had fun spending the day with her.  Dad also enjoyed working with Rob Sword of Sword Sounds.  He was the officiant during the ceremony and the DJ at the reception and he did a great job as usual.

It was a beautiful day for their wedding.  The skies were bright blue and almost cloudless.  It made it really hot, but it also gave the guests a view of our gorgeous Florida beaches.  The wedding colors were blue and pink and Farrah and Paul had amazing flowers custom painted to fit into the color scheme.  They worked with Thai-Rific Orchids and had bouquets, boutonnieres, and corsages that were orchids hand painted in bright pink.  They looked so pretty!

After the ceremony and cocktail hour, Farrah changed to a second dress and her and Paul cut loose on the dance floor!  They had a blast at the reception and the bride, groom, and their wedding party ended the night with a jump in the pool.  That’s the way to cool off after a night of dancing!

Thanks Farrah and Paul, and enjoy your holiday in Orlando!

Christine and Jonathan at Davis Islands Garden Club

On Memorial Day, dad photographed the wedding of a terrific couple.  Christine and Jonathan came from Texas to be married at Davis Islands Garden Club.  It was a laid back and fun wedding full of laughter and love.  Christine wore a gorgeous gown and ribbon tied shoes, but really it was the happiness radiating from her all day long that made her look the most beautiful.  After the outdoor ceremony, dad took Christine and Jonathan near the water for pictures.  The day was made even better with the pretty rainbow in the background.

DJ Carey Culp was the DJ at the reception andChef Michael of Let Them Eat Cake made the couple’s wedding cake.  Dad thinks the “Mad Hatter” style of cakes are so cool!  Dad was also impressed by Christine’s amazing ring.  Jonathan worked with a designer for months to make the ring perfect for Christine, from the large center diamond to the swirl accents on the band.

Christine and Jonathan are headed to Costa Rica for their honeymoon.  We know they will have a blast!  They are such a fun and happy couple and we wish them the best.

Kristy and BJ’s Wedding

Kristy and BJ were married on Sunday at The Church of St. Patrick in Sarasota.  Dad said that they are a terrific couple and he enjoyed being there for their wedding day.  Their family and friends were also all really nice people and they had a good time spending an evening together to celebrate with Kristy and BJ.

Dad was happy to work with Frank Lebano again.  He was the DJ at the reception.  The couple also had a big candy buffet at the wedding.  The many bowls of candy were set up with flower petals sprinkled around them.  Guests also received Ohio Buckeye candies as their favors.  The chocolate and peanut butter treats had the recipe attached.  Kristy is in the Ohio State University Sports Hall of Fame!  What an awesome accomplishment!

Thanks to Kristy and BJ for being so great.  We wish you all the best for a life of happiness!

Stephanie and Louis at Sunken Gardens

Over a year ago, dad first met Stephanie and Louis when they booked him for their wedding and shortly after had their engagement session in St. Petersburg.  They are simply an awesome couple.  Mom has had a chance to get to know Stephanie through her planning and was looking forward to her wedding day and to seeing her pictures.  Stephanie is a nanny for a great family that dad has photographed as well.

The wedding day finally arrived on Saturday.  Stephanie and Louis had Shawna from Flawless Occasions as their coordinator.  Dad has fun working with Shawna and she always does a wonderful job.  Stephanie got ready at Lola Jane’s Beauty Lounge where she had her hair done in a very classic bridal updo.  Stepahnie then went to her ceremony location, Trinity Lutheran Church, where Louis was waiting for the couple’s First Sight.  They had the biggest happy smiles when they saw each other!  Dad took some bride and groom pictures in the church and then the nearby streets before the ceremony began.

The reception was held at Sunken Gardens in St. Petersburg.  Rob Sword of Sword Sounds was the DJ and did a terrific job.  Guests signed a guitar instead of a guest book which will make a great keepsake.  It was a wonderful celebration of Stephanie and Louis’s love and the start of their lives together, which they are both so excited about.  This is the beginning of their lifetime of happiness and we wish them the best.  Stephanie and Louis, even though you will be in another state you better keep in touch!

Lindsay and Scott are Married!

Memorial Day weekend is a busy weekend of weddings for us!  Starting dad off on Friday was Lindsay and Scott’s wedding.  Dad met them at the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay where the couple got ready.  They were able to do many of their separate group pictures there before heading to the wedding.

After a drought, it is great that we have been getting so much rain lately.  However, it isn’t so great for a wedding day.  The couple was going to have their ceremony outside at the Rusty Pelican but had to move the ceremony inside due to the weather.  When it looked like the rain was going to hold off, the ceremony was moved back outside again.  The rain started and the decision was made to go inside, but when it passed things were moved back outside again and the couple was able to have their ceremony outside after all!  Frank Lebano was the DJ for the wedding and was great about moving his equipment around when the location was changed.  The rain did hold off and Lindsay and Scott had their pictures outside after the ceremony as well.

One of dad’s favorite parts of the day was when Scott first saw Lindsay during the ceremony.  He started crying and couldn’t help but say out loud how beautiful Lindsay looked.  It was a really special and touching moment.

Dad was able to talk with Scott’s mom before the wedding and wanted to be sure to thank her for all her help in getting details planned.  And of course thanks to the wonderful couple, Lindsay and Scott!  Have a terrific honeymoon.

Newborn Twins

We have a very busy couple weeks ahead!  Between now and the end of May, dad has 7 weddings and 2 sessions, which means mom has a ton of editing to do.  And we have meetings, mom’s doctor appointments, swim lessons, and two birthday parties!!  It is going to be crazy, but hopefully a lot of fun too.

Dad started off his busy week with a session yesterday for newborn twin girls.  He went to the family’s house for a lifestyle session.  The girls were so precious and small and it made dad even more excited for our baby girl due next month!

Kate and Tony at the Grand Plaza

On Sunday dad was back at the wonderful Grand Plaza for Kate and Tony’s wedding.  They were a laid back and fun couple and dad enjoyed the day.  Tony was so much fun and dad says you have to love a groom who rocks it to Metallica’s Nothing Else Matters during the reception! Everyone was really personable and made the party a blast.  Thanks to Kate, Tony, and all their family and friends for an awesome day, and we hope Kate and Tony’s life together is filled with the same happiness and celebration that they had on their wedding day!

Alicia-Marie and Jason at the Grand Plaza

Dad photographed Alicia and Jason’s engagement session in front of Raymond James Stadium back in November.  Their wedding was on Saturday at the Grand Plaza on St. Pete Beach.  It is a wonderful location and dad was excited he got to spend most of the weekend there for three different weddings!

Alicia was a terrific bride.  She laughed, she cried, she danced, she made silly faces.  Jason was great too and it was obvious how much he loved to see Alicia happy.  Both of them teared up during their vows on the beach.  Reverend Tom Greene (727-403-6308) was the officiant for the ceremony.  The couple had their ceremony at 10:30 am and the morning light was gorgeous.  With a morning wedding this time of year, the sky was a beautiful blue and the water looked amazing.  It made for beautiful pictures!

Rob Sword from Sword Sounds was the DJ and dad always enjoys working with him.  He does a great job.  The wedding color was pink with green accents and the couple brought the colors together in their centerpieces with vases filled with lime slices and green flowers under a bunch of bright pink Gerber daisies.  Mom loves fruit details at weddings!  Her and dad had a citrus theme for the day after brunch they had during their own wedding weekend.

The flower girl at the wedding had the same name that mom and dad have as their top choice for our little sister!  Dad said after hearing people say it all day he is even more sure about it, so I think we have finally settled on a name!

The bride’s parents gave dad a Thank You note that was so sweet!  It said:

“Jason, Thank you so much for all your wonderful help and beautiful pictures to memorialize Alicia and Jason’s engagement and wedding.  Alicia changed her mind on quite a few ideas about the wedding, but the one constant from the very beginning was who she wanted as her photographer!”

What a wonderful compliment!  Thanks so much to Alicia’s parents for that!  And of course thank you to Alicia and Jason for having dad there and letting him share your day.  Enjoy your honeymoon!

Beth and William at Landry’s Seafood House

Beth and Will were married on Friday at St. Andrew’s Methodist Church in Brandon.  They had their reception at Landry’s Seafood House in Tampa.  Beth is friends with Nicole whose wedding dad will be photographing in April!

Will is in the Army and we want to thank him for his service.  We are grateful to Will and all others who serve this country and send blessings to everyone in our Armed Forces.  To honor his service, the bride wore an army garter and the groom’s cake at the reception had an army man figurine with a Green Beret dog tag.

Beth wore a gown with a gorgeous see through embroidered back and carried a cascading bouquet.  She looked amazing!  Dad absolutely loves when a couple gives him lots of time for bride and groom pictures and Beth and Will did.  They were able to get pictures in a variety of locations and dad had so much fun!  It was a terrific wedding for an awesome couple.  Congratulations Beth and Will!

Stephanie and Michael at the Grand Plaza

The Grand Plaza is a terrific location for weddings.  Stephanie and Michael were married there on Thursday.  Dad met Stephanie that morning at London Hair and Spa where she had her hair and makeup done before heading to the Don CeSar to get dressed.  Stephanie and her bridesmaids looked beautiful!  The bridesmaids wore blue dresses and carried bouquets of white and ivory made by Marsha of Marsha Marie Floral.

The ceremony on the beach had chairs with white chair covers and blue chair ribbons.  Floral arrangements on white pillars were on either side of a white lattice also decorated with flowers.  Amanda Gerttula of the Pink Fiddle played the violin for the ceremony music and Reverend Tom Greene (727-403-6308) was the officiant.  Stephanie and Michael smiled all through their ceremony.  It is wonderful to see two people soaking in the joy of their day.

The bride and groom live in Canada and many of their guests came from Canada as well.  Dad had fun meeting them and getting some tips on traveling to Canada for a family vacation we might be taking. In addition to the traditional toasts, guests came up to a podium during dinner and shared limericks about the couple.  The cake was made by Le Cheesecake and was white and covered in little flowers.

Congratulations Stephanie and Michael, and have a great time at Disney World!  Don’t forget to buy Minnie and Mickey bride and groom ears to wear!
