Charla and Dave were married on Sunday at the Powel Crosley Estate in Sarasota. It is a beautiful location that was originally built in 1929 as a winter home for a rich inventor’s wife. Dad hasn’t photographed there in a couple months and was excited to be there again.
Charla had her hair and makeup done by Priscilla Marie of Destino y Luz Hair and Makeup the morning of the wedding. Dave spent his morning hanging out with the guys and playing card games. It was a relaxed morning with everyone excited for the day’s events to begin. The kids at the wedding were especially excited! Mom loves the pictures dad got of some of the kids waiting for the ceremony to start.
The reception dinner was inside followed by dancing outside on the patio. The couple chose a wedding cake made by Beautiful Cakes by Ron that had four tiers with the top tier opening like a box to hold flowers. It also had the detail of the couple’s monogram on the bottom tier. The food by Simply Gourmet Caterers was great and when mom saw a picture of the salad she was jealous of dad! It looked both pretty and delicious at the same time.
Charla and Dave are going to New Zealand for their honeymoon! How awesome!! Dad offered to go with them to document their trip but I guess they wanted to be alone on their honeymoon. Have a great time!

On Thursday dad met up with local event planners Beth and Shawna of Flawless Occasions. For brides planning a wedding, having an experienced professional planner is a great idea. They will take care of the details so your day runs smoothly and all you have to do is enjoy yourself! Beth and Shawna do an awesome job. Be sure to check out their website, www.flawlessoccasions.com.
Dad was excited to get together with the ladies of Flawless Occasions to take some pictures. They were a lot of fun! Thanks Beth and Shawna! Dad can’t wait to work with you again.

We love when couples dad photographs become friends. Mom had an appointment that lasted much longer than she thought and she didn’t get to see Chad and Berni when they came over for their niece’s session. Dad said she missed out because it was a fun time.
Dad was able to photograph their youngest niece’s newborn session and she was back for her half birthday session. She definitely grew and had a little personality now!

We know some people who check are blog regularly are not going to be happy to see an Ohio State outfit, but you have to admit the baby is adorable!

Mom thought it was ridiculously cute for the two cousins to wear coordinating purple plaid outfits. Berni must have been the one to pick them out because she is so good with fashion. How cute would this picture be on a Valentine’s Day card?!

Dad said it was wonderful seeing everyone again and is excited to see these two cousins grow as times goes on. Thanks for a great afternoon!
At all three of last weekend’s weddings, dad got to see some of his past couples again. At Sunday’s wedding, two of the couples in the wedding party were couples whose weddings dad had photographed! Becky and Jed and Alondra and Stan are all terrific people and dad was excited to see them all again at Rochelle and Derek’s wedding.

The previous night dad had worked with Ben from Grant Hemond and he told dad they’d be working together for Rochelle and Derek’s wedding too. When Ben found out that dad knew Rochelle and Derek from past weddings, he asked what the crowd would be like. Dad told Ben to get ready for some fun!
The wedding was held at the Davis Island Garden Club in Tampa. The black, gray, and yellow that the couple chose as the wedding colors looked awesome together. The couple also incorporated lots of golf details from personalized tees as favors to a cake topper of the bride and groom with their daughter and their dog all playing golf. Rochelle got ready that morning with Michele Renee from the Michele Renee Hair and Makeup Artist Group and dad enjoyed seeing her again. Rochelle had her hair swept completely up in curls into a beautiful updo.

Mom absolutely loved the flower girls’ dresses, and the tea kettles they carried down the aisle (using their adorable white gloves) were so creative and pretty!

The city of Tampa makes a nice backdrop for pictures.

The parent dances were both very emotional. Dad said it was very sweet to watch.

It just would not be a wedding without Rochelle and her sister Tina doing the robot! Dad says Tina is a great person too and he thinks she should renew her vows so dad can photograph her “wedding” as well. Dad knew the reception would be a lot of fun. How could it not be with this group of family and friends?!

Mom wanted us to share this picture for two reasons. One, we just blogged about hair and this shows how long dad’s hair is now. Two, one of the reasons mom loves dad so much is because he is such a kid at heart!

Rochelle looking gorgeous!

Congratulations to the newlyweds, and mom and dad hope everyone is sure to keep in touch!!!
For mom’s birthday we gave her a trip to the salon for a much needed haircut! She hadn’t been in so long that she ended up getting EIGHT INCHES taken off and it still comes almost half way down her back! Mom says her head feels a lot lighter and her hair feels much healthier so she thanked us a lot. At the salon, mom’s stylist was a really nice woman who just moved here from Atlanta. She did hair for weddings there and wants to get that going again here because she loves doing it. She works with a makeup artist and they will come to you on the wedding day. Mom said she did a great job with her hair so if anyone needs a hair and makeup person for their wedding get in touch with Bo at bogumila@gmail.com or 813-293-1773.
Here are a couple pictures of mom’s new haircut and her growing belly now that she is almost 5 months along!

And we’ve also been saying that we need to show how much little brother’s hair has lightened. Here he is when he was born. His hair is almost black!

It was a little lighter at 6 months, but still a dark brown (and very long).

And these were taken just a few weeks ago. Can you believe how much lighter his hair is now?! It looks like it was dyed but we really didn’t do anything at all to it! In these pictures the sun makes it look a little lighter than it really is but even inside it looks almost blond.

Saturday was Jessica and Adam’s wedding day! Dad met up with earlier this month for their engagement session. It was dad’s first engagement session of the new year. Jessica and Adam are friends with Beth and Wade whose wedding dad photographed at the Lange Farm a little over a year ago. Beth was a bridesmaid for Jessica and Adam’s wedding so dad got to spend a bit of time with her during the day. He loves catching up with past couples!
Beth and Wade dancing at Jessica and Adam’s reception:

Jessica and Adam were married at Hunter’s Green Country Club and their wedding color was, appropriately, green. Mom liked how the couple used a matching set so the unity candle, guest book and pen, ring bearer pillow, and flower girl pillow all had the same green pleated material held together by a decorative pin.
There were beach details thoughout the wedding as well. Candles in glass vases of sand and shells were the centerpieces. On the tables were starfish and sand dollars for the guests complete with ribbon personalized with the couple’s names and wedding date. The guest book table was decorated with candles in star fish holders and pictures of the couple and their families framed in sea shell frames. Dad’s favorite was the cake. It looked just like a sand castle! The cake table itself was made to look like the beach with netting over the linens, shells scattered all around, and even a little figurine of a bird perched near the cake. The serving set was personalized and had handles that looked like sand with shells in it. The cake was done by Alessi Bakery and dad said they did a great job and everything looked awesome.
Ben from Grant Hemond was the DJ for the reception. Dad hadn’t worked with him for a while and enjoyed seeing him again. He is always a lot of fun!
Jessica and Adam are headed to Las Vegas for their honeymoon! What fun! Enjoy the shows, the delicious restaurants, and the interesting night life
.

Dad is having an awesome weekend! He has three days of weddings and at each one he gets to see some of his past couples again!
On Friday dad photographed Nicole and Mike’s wedding. They are friends with Sarah and Rob whose wedding dad photographed a little more than a year ago. Some of you might remember Sarah and Rob from their Trash the Dress session. Pictures of it are on our old blog but we still get emails about it from time to time! Sarah and Rob got their wedding party together again after the wedding for the only Trash the Dress session dad has ever photographed where the dress really did get trashed. Most brides keep their dresses pretty clean but even those who haven’t cared about their dress getting soaking wet or dirty have ended up with their dress being fine after being professionally cleaned. Sarah made sure her dress was truly trashed when she came up with the idea of playing paintball! Dad said it was the most fun trash the dress session he’s done so far! It was great to see Sarah and Rob again, and dad says if you two are up for another game of paintball he’s in!

Nicole and Mike’s wedding ceremony took place at St. Raphael Catholic Church in St. Petersburg. Dad has been to that location many times and likes photographing there. Mike started smiling the moment he saw Nicole and didn’t stop throughout the entire ceremony. After pictures, the couple headed to North Redington Beach for their reception at The Wine Cellar where there was a DJ from Grant Hemond and Associates. All the guests at the wedding were ready to celebrate. There was lots of dancing and that kept going right to the end of the night. The wedding colors were white or cream with brown and the couple included those colors thorughout their stationary and decor. The detail on the cake was pretty and the couples monogram was on the cake and the cake serving set. We think it was neat that tables were marked with postcards from different resorts and parks in Disney. It reminds us that dad said he would take us to Downtown Disney this week!
Darla Stafford did a gorgeous job with Nicole’s hair. Mom loves the pins and was amazed that the curls still looked great that night.

Fun before the ceremony starts:

Mike beaming once he sees Nicole:

We’re not so sure about this dance move, Mike!

Congratulations on your beautiful wedding and have a terrific time on your honeymoon!
It is so great when dad gets to see a family grow. Dad first photographed Mark and Michelle at their wedding a couple years ago and he was excited for them when they shared the news that they were expecting! In November dad photographed their maternity session and on Thursday he went to their house to meet the new baby. Mark and Michelle’s son was only ten days old for his pictures so dad was able to capture him when he was still really just a newborn. It is amazing how quickly babies change and grow!
Dad also got to meet Mark and Michelle’s two dogs and said they were awesome! They weren’t as cute as the baby of course, but they were still pretty cute
.
Mark and Michelle, thanks for including us in special memories as your family grows. We are so happy for your new addition and can’t wait to see the baby as he gets bigger!

This picture made mom laugh! It looks like the baby is shocked that his dad would hold him like this and has a “Don’t you drop me dad!!!” look on his face.

Just 10 days old but as big as an elephant!

“Put your dukes up! Come on, I dare you!” He even has a sneer to go with the fists.

When Carrie first emailed about a portrait session for her six-week old baby boy, she said that seeing pictures on the blog of us as babies reminded her of her son because he also had a full head of dark hair. Mom saw pictures of Carrie’s little boy and agrees! But dad warned Carrie that it still might change; both of us have much lighter hair now and one of us is even almost blond! We’ll have to share pictures of that on the blog another time so Carrie can see what might happen. But for now Carrie’s son has dark hair and lots of it! Mom loves how it spikes up a bit on the top. So cute!
Dad said Carrie and her husband were wonderful and were having fun with their new role as parents. The baby and his dad had a great time making faces at each other
. Congratulations to your beautiful family!

Such a cute picture of his little chin quivering right before a cry. Awwww!
