Rain, Rain, Go Away

Early Friday morning dad met Candice and Eugene in Tampa for session.  The couple wanted an engagement session with a twist…they brought numbers to use in the pictures and were then going to use the images as table numbers at their wedding.  They are getting married in May at the Palma Ceia Country Club.

The day started out cloudy but nothing too bad.  Dad was having lots of fun with Candice and Eugene!  They were awesome and having a good time getting into the session.  Then, when they were only a third of the way through the table numbers, the rain started.  Not just a little sprinkle but a hard rain.  Unfortunately they had to stop the session but dad had such a blast and he hopes they can work out a time to finish it soon.

Here are some of the pre-rain pictures, without any table numbers so guests can be the first to see those.

Family Pictures at USF

Just a few weeks ago, we blogged about a new baby joining a wonderful family.  Then we blogged a session with the baby’s big brother.  On Wednesday, dad met up with everyone for their family session at the USF garden.  They have a really great family and dad thinks their kids are just terrific.  Thank you so much for letting us share in so many great memories!  You have an adorable family!

More Blog Updates Coming Soon

Believe it or not, we are all still sick!  Besides the colds which mom thinks might have become bronchitis, it looks like we are on Round Two of pink eye.  Hopefully we don’t ALL get it again.  It has been a challenge to keep up with the busy Christmas season and rest and take care of ourselves at the same time.  We took a blogging break but we are working hard and will have more blog updates in the next day or two.

In the meantime, we FINALLY took our own family Christmas pictures today.  It was hectic to catch smiles between coughs so it was a quick session but we are cute so even the outtakes are great!

Big Brother

We just blogged about the newest addition to a wonderful family.  The new baby and her sister have an awesome big brother!  Each year the family does birthday pictures for their kids and this year big brother asked to have his on the beach.  Dad met him there the day after his birthday for his session.

The forecast was calling for rain but the session started early in the morning and the skies were still gorgeous.  The upcoming storm did make for a lot of wind which blew the sand all over, but this birthday boy was great and still had tons of fun.  Happy Birthday!  You have to use a second hand to show your age now!!!

This is mom’s favorite!  She thinks it needs to be a big print to decorate his room.

Melanie and Jake at the Kapok

Last Saturday Melanie and Jake were married at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Largo with their reception following at the Kapok Special Events Center.  Their wedding had a winter theme with glittery snowflakes, sparkling gold lights, centerpieces with hanging crystals, and gorgeous shiny burgundy linens.  The only detail that wasn’t wintery was the big palm tree cookie cake on the dessert table.

Dad met up with Melanie that morning as Michelle Herman did her hair and Kristine of Fabulous Faces did her makeup.  Melanie and her wedding party had tank tops with their roles in the wedding in rhinestones and mom thought it was great that Melanie’s mom had her own Mother of the Bride tank top too!

The bouquet, done by Weddings by Love ‘n Blooms, had crystals standing out of the flowers and each stephanotis with a pearl center.  The dark red roses and green leaves fit well with the wedding theme.  The Christmas tree at the Kapok was perfect for the wedding decor as well!

During the reception guests were treated to a performance of the song “Be Our Guest” as dinner was served.  Doug Decker from Grant Hemond was the DJ at the reception and he really had the dance floor packed!  It was a wonderful day just as Melanie and Jake deserved.  They are so in love and looking at them you can see a long and happy future.  Congratulations newlyweds!
