Krystal and Matt

Krystal and Matt had a fun and intimate wedding on Sunday and dad was so happy to be a part of it. Everyone was incredibly welcoming and made dad feel like he was another guest and not just the photographer. The bride got ready at the Sandpearl and the couple had their first sight there so they could have some pictures there together before the ceremony.

The ceremony was held on the beach at Sand Key Park. Krystal and Matt’s family and friends who gathered to celebrate with them were so happy for the couple. They laughed and cried along with them.

After the ceremony there was a reception dinner at the Salt Rock Grill where Matt had proposed. Dad thought it was awesome that Krystal and Matt were up for more pictures around the restaurant as well before going in for dinner.

Thanks so much to Matt and Krystal! You were kind, fun, and happy people and dad had a great time with you! He cannot wait to see you again. We are so happy for you and all the excitement you have coming in your future!

Samea and Paulo’s Wedding

Samea and Paulo were married on Saturday at the St. John Greek Orthodox Church. The interior was beautiful, and the couple included many aspects of a traditional Greek ceremony, including the Crowning and the Ceremonial Walk.

Mom read that another Greek tradition is to roll a baby on the marital bed to encourage fertility. She doesn’t think Samea and Paulo included that, though we know dad would have had a blast photographing it if they had!:)

After the ceremony, dad went outside with the couple for pictures. Mom thought this “paparazzi” picture was cute.

The bride and groom:

The reception was held at Davis Island Garden Club in Tampa.

The groom’s mom was not able to make it to the wedding, but she got to see everything through the webcam that was set up all day. Dad thought that was sweet.

Dad had lots of fun hanging out with some of the kids at the reception and one of them even gave him a note that said he was crazy and cool. He loved it and was showing it off to mom right when he got home that night.

Congratulations Samea and Paulo! You are going to have a wonderful marriage and we wish you lots of happiness!

Mom Blogging

The past few nights we have been reading the Dr. Seuss book One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish. Maybe it is because it was written in 1960 but parts of the book are very poetic in an adult world. I had to share a few quotes:

“My hat is old. My teeth are gold.
I have a bird I like to hold.
My shoe is off. My foot is cold.

My shoe is off. My foot is cold.
I have a bird I like to hold.
My hat is old. My teeth are gold.

And now my story is all told.”

.
“Did you ever fly a kite in bed?
Did you ever walk with ten cats on your head?
Did you ever milk this kind of cow?
Well, we can do it. We know how.

If you never did, you should.
These things are fun and fun is good.”

.
“Today is gone. Today was fun.
Tomorrow is another one.
Every day, from here to there,
funny things are everywhere.”

Glowing

Alison is ridiculously pretty at 8 months pregnant. Her and Trae are expecting their son in a month and dad went to their place on Friday for Alison’s maternity session. They were wonderful people and dad felt instantly comfortable with them. Not only did Alison have the pregnant mom glow but dad said she was a natural in front of the camera.

After some pictures at their place, they headed down the street for beach pictures at night.

Alison is lucky that she didn’t go into labor that night! There’s an old wives tale that some people, including labor and delivery nurses, swear is true. They say if you bare your belly to a full moon and you are close to your due date you will go into labor. Luckily for Alison the full moon was the day after her session. Mom said that full moon thing didn’t work for her anyways. She was trying everything when she was a week past her due date with both of us.

Being a part of such important moments in people’s lives is part of what makes us LOVE what we do. We are so excited to meet the baby when he arrives and see him grow through his first year. Thank you Alison and Trae! The next month will go by either very slowly or very quickly for you but we can’t wait to meet the baby!

Happy Half Birthday!

On Tuesday Weslie brought her daughter over for a half birthday session. Weslie’s mom came along as well and we wanted to say thanks for listening to There’s a Monster at the End of this Book over and over!

It is so special being able to watch babies grow and see their relationships with their parents grow as well. Weslie is a great mom and when you watch her interact with her daughter it warms your heart.

Three generations:

6 months old and already riding horses! Yeehaw!

We’re sad that the family is moving out of state but we’ll be looking forward to all their Florida visits.  We can’t wait to see you again! You are all so much fun!
