Blog Reader Participation and Appreciation Month Welcome Baby Brother! Be sure to check out my August 27th entry!!
August 31, 2007 Yawn, we are all so tired!!
But I wanted to share a few pictures of my brother Everett at 4 days old...
And one showing me when I was 5 days old and Everett at 4 days old, both wearing the same outfit. Everett was even later past his due date than me, but I was still bigger.
I'll have more pictures to share soon!
August 30, 2007 THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for all the emails, cards, flowers, and gifts people have sent for my brother. We are so appreciative of all of your kindness and congratulations. We are just basking in our blessings right now. Yesterday dad took some newborn session pictures of my brother and I'll be sharing some of those tomorrow, but for now here is one of the interviews we did for Blog Reader Participation and Appreciation Month.

How did you two meet?
August 27, 2007 HE'S HERE I am so proud to tell all of you that my brother has arrived!!! He even decided to come on his own so mom didn't have to be induced, which we were all very happy about. Thank you so much to everyone who sent good thoughts and prayers our way! Mom started having contractions Friday night around 9:30pm. Because she had a doctor's appointment earlier that day and they told her that her cervix was "not doing squat" she figured it was probably false labor. By 3 in the morning she knew that this was real and by 5 am the contractions were intense! Once her contractions were around 3 minutes apart, she decided it was time to go to the hospital. She called grandma to come over in case I woke up and then she took a shower and was ready to go. That's when dad told her that he wanted to shower too. Then he had to pack more stuff in the bags that were ready, then load the car, then look up directions...mom was trying her best to wait as patiently as she could as she was dealing with the pain! Mom having a contraction while standing by the front door waiting for dad to be ready:
At about a quarter after 7am, mom and dad left for the hospital. Mom's doula Stefany (www.angeldoula.com) met them there at the same time they arrived, around 8:20 am. Stefany was great through the entire experience so if you are pregnant definitely give her a call. Mom breathing through a contraction in triage at the hospital (she says she looks like she is handling things a lot better than she felt like she was!):
After mom was checked out in triage and they said she was indeed in labor (no kidding!) she was admitted and brought to a delivery room. This was at about 10am. She was trying focusing, breathing, relaxation, and all the techniques she could to deal with the contractions because they were INTENSE. Mom with Stefany in the delivery room (Dad was there and helping too, of course!):
My brother's heart rate started to have some issues during the contractions. Because he also had some heart rate issues during the non-stress test on Friday, the doctor was concerned that the umbilical cord was being compressed or there was an issue with the placenta. He decided to break mom's water for her so he could internally monitor my brother for an hour and see how he was doing after that. The monitor showed his heart rate was still not looking good, but when the hour was over and they checked mom again, she was 8-9 centimeters. My brother seemed like he was still high though, but Stefany had mom move positions (she was great about that all through labor to help my brother's heart rate when it would get way too low and not come back up). As soon as mom did, my brother came down and the doctor said mom was ready to push. He told mom that because of his heart rate, she would have to push him out fast or they would have to use a vacuum to help him out. Mom pushed for about five minutes and there was my beautiful brother!
Mom and dad with my brother right after he was born (Stefany took the first two for mom and dad):
How ADORABLE is he???
Once they left the delivery room and got into the room they'd stay in for the rest of the time in the hospital, a nurse came into the room to give my brother his bath. Dad took pictures of course. The nurse had fun styling my brother's long hair.
Once mom, dad, and my brother were in their new room, I came to visit. Grandma, pop pop, Aunt Lora, Aunt Kellie, and I all came together to meet the newest member of our family. I got to hold my brother first. No one was quite sure how I'd react. They put him in my arms and I immediately started giving him kisses and told my brother how much I loved him. I really do. Everyone already says what a loving big brother I am.
That night was a hard night for me. Mom, dad, and my brother were all at the hospital and I missed them. It was a hard night for mom as well because she doesn't like being away from me either. Mom and dad hoped they would be able to go home on Sunday, but my brother's heart was making an odd sound so the pediatrician wanted to keep him in the hospital one more day. She said that as many as 40% of newborns have that sound so it was probably nothing, but she wanted him there for observation. Mom completely understood and was happy that the pediatrician was being cautious with my brother, but she missed me so much and was crying. She called and bugged grandma lots of times to rush her to bring me to visit. I didn't want to leave so we all decided that I would just spend the whole day at the hospital and someone would get me that night when visiting hours were over. I love my grandma and she is wonderful for staying with me and watching me, but I was really happy to be able to spend the day with my parents and my new brother.
Me and my brother:
All wrapped up snug:
He might have taken a nap, but I didn't! So much for mom and dad sleeping when the baby sleeps.
When I left that night, I was VERY sad. I cried, which made mom cry, which almost made the nurses watching us say goodbye cry too. Mom said I would see her in the morning and my brother would be coming home too. Grandma took me home and we played together. Back at the hospital, mom and dad were up for another long night with my brother.
The last picture reminded mom of one she took of dad and me on the day after I was born:
This morning the pediatrician checked out my brother and cleared him to go home. Mom and dad called grandma and told her that they would pick me up from her house so we could all bring my brother home together for the first time. We were all very excited! I thanked grandma SO MUCH for watching me and taking care of me while mom and dad were at the hospital, and then we all headed home. I got to show my brother around the house and introduce him to our dogs and cat. It has been a great day.
So without further ado, here is my formal introduction of my baby brother Everett to all of my wonderful blog readers:
Dad will of course be doing a newborn session with Everett this week and we will use one of those pictures for his real birth announcements. I'm sure I'll have lots and lots of pictures to share the next few weeks as Everett settles in with us. I'll also be sharing all the wonderful interviews and guest bloggers from Blog Reader Participation and Appreciation Month.
August 24, 2007 My brother is officially more late than I was! Today mom had a doctor's appointment to monitor the baby and see if he was doing okay in there. He gave them a bit of a scare with his heart rate and mom ended up having to have an ultrasound to check on him. They told mom that she might have to be induced today, but things looked fine on the ultrasound. Mom has to go to the hospital tomorrow to be monitored again to make sure my brother's heart rate is doing what it should. If not, she will have to be induced tomorrow. If things look okay tomorrow, they aren't going to let her wait any longer than Sunday night to induce. Mom is sad that he decided not to come on his own (though there is still a chance he might!) but we all want to make sure he is doing well. So by Monday night, my brother will be here! Even with the long wait, we can't believe the time is almost here and we are all very excited! Be sure to send thoughts and prayers our way for a healthy and safe delivery for both mom and my little baby brother.
August 21, 2007 Want to know what's worse than being pregnant and past your due date in August in FLorida? Being pregnant and past your due date in August in Florida and having your air conditioner break!!!!! The entire unit is just one year old and was just serviced a couple months ago, which makes this entire situation even more ridiculous! Now would be a perfect time for the baby to come so we could all make a trip to the hospital. No signs of that so far though. The air conditioner people are coming this evening so hopefully we will be out of our misery later tonight (assuming they have all the parts to fix it, and when does that ever happen?) **Update: It's fixed!!! Thank goodness we didn't have to deal with that for too long!!!
On Sunday, dad went to the park with Bronwyn for a Trash the Dress session. Her and Robin have been married just over a year and have become friends of ours, so it was great to see them and get some cool pictures for them. Here are some highlights:
We'll see you two again soon once the baby is born so you can meet him! Now we are all going to sit in front of our fans and eat popsicles. Mom says she can't even go walking or anything to be active and try to get the baby out since she can't come home and cool off!
August 20, 2007 Having kids really makes you think about the future and the state of the world that our children will grow up in. This has inspired mom and dad to try to make some changes to be more Earth-friendly. Two of the easy changes have been buying the energy saving light bulbs and using Method cleaning products (which have plant-based ingredients instead of chemicals and are non-toxic). As the Native American proverb says, "We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children." Mom found a great way to incorporate this sentiment into your wedding. A company called Invitations by Dawn makes a collection of save-the-dates and wedding invitations called Naturally Ever After that are printed on recycled paper. The best part is that besides being recycled, they are beautiful! Here are a few examples of the Naturally Ever After invitations offered by Invitations By Dawn:
Seashell Blues (Great for Beach Weddings!)
Accented with Palms
Simply Tuscan
When we saw these, we immediately thought of Samantha and Patrick, our contest winners from our Free Wedding Giveaway. They are planning an eco-friendly wedding to share their passion for animal rights and the environment with their guests. Stay tuned for some guest blog entries from Sam on planning an eco-friendly wedding!
August 19, 2007 Okay, little brother, we are getting very impatient now! You are officially LATE!!! Hurry up so we can meet you! With mom being "overdo" she has to go to doctor's appointments twice a week, so we'll see tomorrow if there has been any progress.
Tomorrow is also Aunt Kellie's first day of school! It was fun spending lots of the summer with you. We hope you have an awesome school year. Have fun and good luck!
Though we all want my brother to be born already, we are glad that he didn't choose Saturday for his birthday. Dad was photographing Meghan and Eric's wedding day. They live in Arlington, VA, where mom and dad were married! Darla Stafford was there for hair and makeup and Rob Sword was the DJ, and as always dad enjoyed working with them. I think it is great that lots of brides picked up on my tip to have a padded hanger for their gowns. That tip was from July's week of wedding tips. We also did a week of tips in June, so if you missed either of those be sure to go back into my blog archives to check them out. Meghan and Eric's ceremony was held at the Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Petersburg. Mom thought it was awesome how Meghan carried a Bible decorated with ribbon and flowers rather than a traditional bouquet.
The reception was held at the Mahaffey Theater, which is a wonderful location! Here is the bridal party across from the theater:
More gator fans!!! Meghan and Eric had a gator garter, a gator groom's cake, and entered their reception with pompoms in gator colors doing the gator chomp.
The newlyweds at the end of the night:
Poor Meghan and Eric had their honeymoon to the Caribbean postponed thanks to the hurricane. They now have to leave next week instead. When you do get there, it will be a blast . Congratulations, and thanks for having us share your day!
August 18, 2007 So many people loved mom's last entry and thought the book looked hilarious! Here are some of the funny Porn for Brides ideas people sent in:
From Lindsey: "Sure honey - tying 100 little bows to glue on top of our save the dates is NO problem."
Those look beautiful! Good job Anthony!
From Casey: "I would love to go to vendor appointments with you all day! After all, it is not only the woman's responsibility to plan the wedding." Casey makes us laugh because she must have felt guilty sending this and added the disclaimer that her fiance Nathan is very involved in helping her plan. Good for you, Nathan!
From Leslie: "It's perfectly fine; I love the taste of envelope glue from the invitations, and after all I'm the one who told you that 500 guests sounds like a cozy number."
And from Sarah: "Don't worry about the cost; this is our only wedding day after all."
Too funny! I hope all of you added these to the author's blog as well. It would be cool if they liked the ideas and really did come out with a Porn for Brides edition.
With my baby brother (we can't believe he isn't here yet!) coming any time, I've been doing my part to help out with our business. Here I am editing some wedding images at mom's computer. I hope I did a good job!
This job isn't so bad. I get paid pretty well. Freshly baked chocolate chip cookies!
I love my fellow co-workers...
And I get plenty of time off for fun. Yesterday mom, dad, Aunt Lora and I went to the park.
Mom says this is her newest favorite picture of me. She loves how it snuck up from behind to catch me in this candid moment, and it really captures my personality (going down the slide all by myself, hands bravely in the air to make it even more fun!)
Dad is at a wedding today and I offered to go help take pictures but mom asked me to stay home with her instead. She needs someone to hang out with because she is going to have a lazy day with lots of just sitting around so she doesn't go into labor today. As much as we want my brother to be here, we don't want dad to miss it when it does happen!! Tomorrow is another story though; mom says we are going to be going for an extra long walk and doing lots of dancing too. She was dancing when she went into labor with me, but so far that hasn't done the trick with my brother.
August 16, 2007 Today my mom is writing my blog for me as she says the subject matter is not appropriate for a 2 year old boy to be discussing : I got an awesome email from my friend Bronwyn and it was too good not to share on the blog. PORNOGRAPHY WARNING: The email was titled "Porn for Women." It included pictures from the book Porn for Women by Cambridge Women's Pornography Cooperative, with pictures by photographer Susan Anderson.
Book: Porn for Women
Here are some of the pictures from the book:
"I like to get to these things before I have to be asked."
"As long as I have legs to walk on, you'll never have to take out the garbage."
"Hold that thought a second. I want to pull over to ask for directions."
"Is that the baby? I'll get her."
"I love a clean house."
The authors are working on a sequel called Porn for New Moms and given that our baby can be born at any time now, I'm full of ideas! On the Chronicle Book's Blog, they are asking for people to submit comments with ideas for later editions of this book. I'm sure all of you engaged and recently married women out there can come up with tons of ideas! What about an edition called, Porn for Brides with things like, "Of course I want to go help pick out table linens! It is important that they match the color scheme you know." That would be such a cool idea! So because this is Blog Reader Participation Month, if you have any fun ideas send them in!!! It will be fun to see what we can come up with!
I also have to say that I am so lucky to have met so many wonderful people by sharing in such important times in their lives. It is awesome when "clients" become friends. So thank you to Bronwyn, Rachel, Berni, Erin, Riley, Casey, Laura, Carly, Kristi, Raina (and their fiances/husbands of course) and so many others who have shared their lives with us and became much more than just a couple we have photographed; they became our friends. We are so blessed!!! And Bronwyn, don't think I'm not taking you up on your offer to bring over take-out when the baby is born .
I just have to add one more thing to the blog today. I was cleaning up my computer and moving some of our family pictures to an external hard drive because I know we are going to have lots more to add as soon as the baby comes. On one of the external hard drives, I found pictures from years and years ago when Jason and I were still in college. I just had to share this picture of Jason...at least until he checks the blog and makes me take it off! This was at my Uncle Mike's wedding, I think in 1997. How cute is my husband with his shades and long hair! If you just add a baseball hat and change the suit to a Pacific Sunwear collared shirt, that was his look back then.
August 15, 2007 My little brother already wants to be like me. I was born a week after my due date, and it seems like my brother will be late as well. The doctor says that labor could start at any time, but if he decides to wait then mom has to start going to doctor's appointments twice a week until her induction date. We are all getting impatient.
My grandma forwarded my mom an email about what it was like to be a kid in my mom's generation Here are some excerpts from the email: We drank water from the garden hose and not from a bottle. We ate cupcakes, white bread, and real butter, and drank Kool-aid made with sugar, but we weren't overweight because we were always playing outside! We would leave home in the morning and play all day as long as we were back at home when the streetlights came on. No one was able to reach us all day, and we were okay. We did not have Playstations, Nintendos, X-boxes, or any video games at all, no 150 channels on cable, no video movies or DVDs, no surround-sound or CDs, no cell phones, no personal computers, no internet or chat rooms; instead, we had friends and we went outside and found them. We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth, and there were no lawsuits from these accidents. We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door (or just walked right in) to talk to them. Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment. The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law! We had freedom, failure, success, and responsibility, and we learned how to deal with it all. Mom and dad says it is weird for them when they realize that my brother and I are going to have such a different experience growing up than they did. Cell phones, computers, information and entertainment fast and easy...when mom and dad were kids they didn't have any of that! Mom still misses her old record player and dad remembers a family friend who had a car phone when they first came out and how amazing he thought it was (and how huge it was in comparison to today's phones!) When they were young, no one had personal computers, and when computers did make their way into homes it was all DOS and printers had those perforated strips on either side of the paper that always got jammed. Times sure have changed quickly!!!
Though mom and I aren't huge Bucs fans (we don't NOT like them, they just aren't "our team") we thought lots of you would like to know the season schedule: September 9 @ Seattle 16 HOME GAME New Orleans 23 HOME GAME St. Louis 30 @ Carolina
October 7 @ Indianapolis 14 HOME GAME Tennessee 21 @ Detroit 28 HOME GAME Jacksonville
November 4 HOME GAME Arizona 18 @ Atlanta 25 HOME GAME Washington Redskins!!
December 2 @ New Orleans 9 @ Houston 16 HOME GAME Atlanta 23 @ San Francisco 30 HOME GAME Carolina
August 14, 2007 In my June 7th blog entry (in the June 2007 archives), I mentioned a Barbie doll and her dog that came with a pooper scooper and magnetic poop. I even said that when mom saw it, she thought it would be a choking hazard. So I thought it would be responsible of me to point out that this doll is now on Mattel's recall list due to the magnetic hazard. There are also several Sesame Street and Fisher Price toys recalled due to lead paint, so parents be sure to check the list and then check your kid's toys! Mom and dad had to throw out one of mine already.
August 13, 2007 Here are the responses to our Blog Participation Question: If you could have (or could have had) any person, living or historical, officiate your wedding, who would it be and why?
Wow! What a great question…..my first thought was my grandfather but I’m afraid I’d be crying the whole time…So, if I could choose anyone in the world I’d say Lucille Ball. She’s fiery, funny, and would probably be a very memorable officiant!
--Jessica
If I could have anyone officiate the wedding, I think it would be the same person that we are actually having officiate our wedding. The man that we are using is a close friend of ours and is an amazing speaker. We are so excited to have a close friend officiating the wedding that I can't think of a better person!
--Casey
Robin Williams or some other really funny comedian would be good because they could have all the guests laughing and having fun, which would make our ceremony really stand out from any other.
--Beth
I would choose Reverend Bob Martin b/c he has many different ceremonies I would be able to choose from instead of having the same one everyone else has. Also, he will marry a couple on a roller coaster, which is where I would want to get married if I could.
--Laura
I would want the Pope to officiate my wedding in some historic cathedral in Italy (or even the Vatican!)
--Trish
It really does not matter to me as long as they are an official person with the proper license.
--Mary
Thanks for all the responses! What a great variety of ideas everyone had!
Congratulations to Katie and Mike who were married on Saturday. They live in Illinois and came to Florida for a beach wedding on Sand Key beach and their reception at the Clearwater Beach Marriott Suites on Sand Key. Dad got to work with Darla Stafford who did the bride's hair and makeup, and Rob Sword who was the DJ. They are both wonderful people and great vendors! The couple's officiant was the bride's aunt, which made the ceremony more personal to Katie and Mike. Here are a few pictures:
The florist was Designs by Yours Truly, Jayne Giroux (941-720-8177).
Katie and Mike in love and having fun:
Thanks for having dad there to capture your day, and have a wonderful honeymoon!
Parental Warning: Did you know that the movie Antz has language that just should not be in a kids movie?! We went to rent movies and that is what I picked out, so this morning dad watched it with me and was shocked at the number of inappropriate words that were used. It made mom and dad realize that they need to pay more attention and can't just grab any cartoon from the kids section at the movie store. Antz was rated PG and when dad told mom about the words used she looked up reviews and many people commented about the language and how the movie was geared towards adults as well. It definitely isn't a movie for toddlers! Mom and dad are just happy that I didn't seem to pick up on any of those words.
August 10, 2007 Last night, with mom ready to go into labor at any time now, dad risked going out with only his sketchy cell phone (now fixed!) to meet up with some other great local photographers. He came home bragging about what a fun time he had. Jerry McGaghey was kind enough to organize and put the whole evening together, and Phillip Lloyd and Linda Agosto were there as well. After dinner in Tampa, Jerry had arranged for an "Industrial After Dark" shoot with some volunteer models, Amanda and Josh (thanks to the two of you!) Dad said it was an awesome night, so thank you to Jerry, Phillip, and Linda. Here are some of the pictures dad took:
August 9, 2007 We are having MAJOR cell phone problems!!! Dad's number is still 813-240-6611, even if you get a message saying it isn't a working number. But until this gets resolved (customer service is not being very helpful) it is better to email us. UPDATE on the evening of 8-10-07: We've switched cell phone companies and now everything should be working fine! Thanks for your patience.
August 7, 2007 It's never a good thing when slowly, one by one, all of your neighbors are getting a new roof...
Just a quick update on Nonna...She will be in the hospital for the rest of the week, but the procedure went well. She is doing okay, just sad about being stuck in the hospital! Thanks for all the well wishes for her!
Don't forget to email me with your answer to our current Blog Participation Question: If you could have (or could have had) any person, living or historical, officiate your wedding, who would it be and why? Email your answer to jasonangeliniphotographyorders@yahoo.com by August 10th and I will share the responses in a future blog update.
Here are the responses to my previous Blog Participation Question, what is/was your life plan for love and marriage and kids? My plan for love and marriage and kids was to get married, have a kid before I'm thirty and then MAYBE have a second. I really really want a girl named Amelia, Anthony wants a boy named David. I always thought I'd have a fairly long engagement and our is almost 19months so that is good. I always wanted my engagement proposal to include my family and Anthony proposed in front of my family why my father's band was playing (he actually made arrangements with the band to do it on the dance floor!) so far everything I've planned is coming through. Now that I'm 25 and realize I have 4 years to have a kid (watch me have twins)… I'm getting a little nervous that I wont be ready, maybe it will be after 30 haha. --Lindsey Lindsey and Anthony's Engagement Session
Mine was simple. I wouldn't get into any serious relationships until I was at least 20. I wouldn't get engaged until I was at least 23. I would have at least a year long engagement before getting married and just for some buffer it would be nice not to be married before I was 25. As I started going through the birthdays of my early 20's, I wasn't in any rush to settle down and despite already knowing and loving my now fiance, we took our time before taking the next step. It was great for us to have time to do our own thing first, focusing on school and our careers and just having fun. Giving ourselves enough time for that made it so we knew when we were ready, we'd be completely ready to focus on each other and our lives joined together. When my wedding comes I'll be 29, and by now I've learned not to make any plans for anything else. We'll enjoy married life together for a few years, just the two of us, so when we are ready for kids we know we can focus on being parents without feeling like we missed out any just being married for a while. --Lisa
Well I can't say that I really had a life plan to begin with, but if I did, I definitely would not have thought I would have been together with my now husband for 11 years before getting married! Mario and I got married about 2 &1/2 weeks ago on our 11 year anniversary, July 19th. We were in high school and met through my best guy friend who later became our best friend. I was a junior and Mario was a senior....I never thought it would last through the school year much less him graduating and starting college in our hometown, me graduating and starting college in Tampa, almost 3 years of long a distance relationship, the death of our best friend who got us together, and a million other things! It definitely hasn't been the easiest relationship but we made it in our own time in our own way. As far as kids, it's still not completely decided... after all look how long it took us to get married! (LOL!) But seriously, I love kids and I'm sure just as one day we ended up getting married, one day we'll end up having kids.....besides it would be another excuse for me to get some more amazing pictures by Jason! --Tara Tara and Mario On Their Wedding Day
I wasn't sure I ever wanted to get married or have kids! I dated around but I was happy just casually dating and enjoying the single life. One by one, my friends started to get engaged, then get married. I was always a bridesmaid. Then I met Tom. We had fun every time we went out together and time started to go by quickly. Before I knew it, we had been together for over a year and I realized I never felt trapped or anything by the relationship and things just fit together. We started talking about the future and again it didn't seem weird, it seemed like it was supposed to be. When he proposed, it changed all of my plans. I immediately said yes and haven't looked back since. My casual life plan has become full of all the details of wedding planning, and when we talk about life after we are married we even talk about having a baby after not too long. So my plan to just enjoy life is still happening, just in a different way than I had thought it would. --Vicky
Wow, the
life plan, that ever mutating dream. I suppose we all get some hazy view of
it the first time we watch Cinderella and begin playing “house” and/or
“doctor”. I was no different. I was to marry a tall handsome man exactly 4
years older than me at the age of 24, preferably a doctor per my mother’s
request. It would be the stuff of fairy tales, the look across the room,
everything stops, and there were always roses. We would have two children,
one boy (Jackson William), and one girl (Hannah Elizabeth)—definitely before
the age of 35. We would have successful fulfilling careers, know nothing but
happiness and settle down in a middle sized town far way from my hometown
Indiana . Jennifer and Brandt's Engagement Session
So just for fun, what is/was your life plan for love and marriage and kids? I always hoped that I would find the man I was going to marry while in high school and I did! As far as kids go, we would like to wait until we are 25, so 4 years after we are married. Everyone says that it won't actually happen that way but we can hope can't we!? :)
Casey and Nathan's Engagement Session
THANKS SO MUCH to everyone who sent in a response! It was so sweet to read about love just stopping people right where it found them and changing everything.
Now send in the replies to our new question for some more fun! Would you have Elvis do your I Do's, like mom's friend Camille wants? What about Shakespeare so your ceremony would be romantic and elegant like his sonnets? Who would you choose???
August 6, 2007 I'm excited about my blog "theme" this month! I have some cool things planned and some wonderful people who are helping me out with my blog throughout August so when my brother comes and we are super busy, we will still have fun updates! Thanks to everyone who is helping me out and taking part in the blog participation questions!
I am saving the awesome responses to my life plan question based on that "Friends" episode for later this week. But now it is time for another Blog Participation Question! If you could have (or could have had) any person, living or historical, officiate your wedding, who would it be and why? We can't wait to get the responses, this should be fun! Email me your answer at jasonangeliniphotographyorders@yahoo.com by August 10th so I can share the responses in a future blog update.
Now for some Blog Reader Appreciation. If you purchase a gift certificate from us between now and August 10th, we'll add another 20% to the amount. So a $50 gift certificate would be good for $60, or a $150 would be for $180! Hi to all of Stacy and Tyler's friends and family! Dad photographed this wonderful couple's wedding yesterday and he said that many people came up to him and told him that they love my blog. I'm so happy to hear that! And mom says to thank everyone for all the good luck and good wishes they sent to her through dad. Stacy and Tyler live in Iowa and had a destination wedding at the Tradewinds Island Grand in St. Pete. The groom made the morning really special by sending a note to the bride every hour with a sweet quote on the bottom. Isn't that romantic!!! The quote mom liked best was: "Love is... What makes a weak man brave And a king step off his throne Good times, bad times Easy times, tough times It comes in an instant And lasts three days after forever That's what love is."
As Stacy was getting her hair and makeup done, Tyler was out on the beach skimboarding. What a fun way to start off your wedding day! He is a football player at Iowa State and has the coolest football tattoo on his arm with a Bible passage that translates to "All things are possible for him that believeth."
Mom thinks this picture is beautiful:
The bride's dress:
It was very bright out for the ceremony, but Stacy and Tyler had prepared by giving their guests fan programs. They could cool off and block the sun!

After all the excitement of the day, the couple gets to celebrate all over again this weekend at their second reception in Iowa! Have a wonderful time, and congratulations!
August 2, 2007 I am so excited that it is August! Some time this month, my baby brother will join our family. How amazing is that!!! Because things will be super busy getting ready for a new baby and then with a newborn settling into our lives, I've decided to make this month Blog Reader Participation and Appreciation Month. This way all of you can help me with my blog throughout August. I'm going to ask for people share advice, stories, favorites, and ideas, as well as having polls and maybe even some interviews and guest bloggers. Also, throughout the month we'll have some discounts and possibly a couple giveaways to thank all of you for being awesome blog readers.
Because this is in honor of my baby brother arriving this month, let's start off with a Reader Appreciation Discount about pregnancy and babies. All maternity and newborn (up to 1 month old) sessions booked before August 10th and scheduled for some time during August or September will be 1/2 off! To book at this special price, send an email to jasonangeliniphotographyorders@yahoo.com and be sure to mention the coupon code 1Blog807.
And to get the blog participation started, let's copy off of the "Friends" episode called "The One Where They All Turn 30." Rachel is turning 30 and talks about her life plan (script from www.livesinabox.com/friends): Rachel: Okay! Y’know what? I realized it was stupid to get upset about not having a husband and kids. All I really needed was a plan. See I wanna have three kids… Phoebe: Oh let me guess, and you wanna have them all at the same time and you wanna have them for your brother. Rachel: As I was saying… I should probably have the first of the three kids by the time I’m 35 which gives me five years. I love this plan! I wanna marry this plan! Phoebe: If you could do that, I’d marry the hippity-hop. Rachel: So, if I wanna have my kid when I’m 35, I don’t have to get pregnant until I’m 34. Which gives Prada four years to start making maternity clothes! Oh wait, but I do want to be married for a year before I get pregnant… Monica: Really! That long?! (Chandler slowly turns and looks at her.) (To Chandler) Look all you want, it’s happening! Rachel: No, so I don’t have to get married until I’m 33! That’s three years, that’s three whole years—Oh, wait a minute though. I’ll need a year and a half to plan the wedding, and I’d like to know the guy for a year, year and a half before we get engaged… Which means I need to meet the guy by the time I’m thirty. Ross: Which is fine! Because you just turned—(Removes two candles from the cake)—twenty-eight! Rachel: No! Ross, no! It is not fine! Eh-eh-according to my plan I should already be with the guy I wanna marry! So just for fun, what is/was your life plan for love and marriage and kids? How long did you think you'd be engaged before your wedding and how long are you/were you? How many kids do you want to have and how far apart do you want them to be? How has you plan changed (if it has) as time goes on? Email me your responses at jasonangeliniphotographyorders@yahoo.com. Now remember, I need help with my blog so I want lots of people to email! Send me your responses by August 5th and I'll share them on the next blog update.
Now for some pictures! Dad was in Sarasota yesterday for a Trash the Dress session with Berni and Chad. Dad photographed their wedding almost 2 years ago and we are lucky that they have become friends of ours. The last time mom and dad had some past and present wedding couples over to the house, Berni had brought up a Trash the Dress session and finally the timing worked out (and the weather warmed up) so they could do it. Berni didn't wear her Jimmy Choos for the session (check out the November 2005 blog archives) for some reason, but she had no problem completely soaking the dress. And Chad joined her in some of the pictures wearing a shirt that matched their wedding color. As the session started, dad thought it was funny when a passerby warned Berni that her dress was dragging on the ground a bit. If only she could have been there at the end! As it did end, there were other people at the beach taking Berni and Chad's picture, saying "This is something you don't see every day!" It was lots of fun. Here are some favorites from their session:
Mom's absolute favorite from the whole session:
Now why didn't Chad go all the way into the water?
Rinsing off has never been so sexy!
Hope the session gave you a nice break from the school reading stuff you had to do. We'll have to get together again soon!
And because it's Blog Reader Participation and Appreciation Month, how about a poll to see what others are planning to do with their own wedding gowns:
